The Textile Valley in Shibei District of Qingdao, which shapes a high-end ecosystem involving lots of matters, such as research, creativity, fashion, trade, talent, information, culture, and education. The rising “Manhattan” in China outlines the blueprint of Qingdao textile industry development, and perhaps it is a way to answer the big question.
Textile Valley: the creation of a characterized theme base
Different from other traditional textile organizations, the new valley is expected to promote an upgrade for the citys textile industry, which will abandon low-end processing orders in aims to transform into a high-end industrial circle including scientific research, innovation, fashion, trade, culture, education, etc.
According to the reporter of China Daily, with support from experts and engineers of South Koreas Seoul National University, Hongik University and Ewha Women University, the theme base adopts advanced 3D technologies in the textile industry, in a bid to update customerstraditional consumption concepts and patterns, and to satisfy their individual needs.
It will focus on its China Color Design Center project, which will span over scientific research, vocational training and education, exhibitions and business applications, with the expectation of promoting the awareness of color design in related industries and changing the development trend of the color design industry. The Textile Valley will cooperate with China National Textile and Apparel Council to build a textile alliance, setting standards for functional textiles. Mean-while, it will also forge a China-JapanSouth Korea functional textile exhibition and trading center.
Technology & fashion make innovation stand out
Today, the competition no longer simply relies on labor-intensive work or duplication of effort, but brain storm match. The good news is that at the beginning of the construction, the base has already identified market trends to grasp and meet the demand, and also to syn- chronize with the fashion. In addition, the PFET program, combined with traditional textile technology and nano-tech to make textile surface hydrophobic, lipophobic and anti-fouling, achieves all-win in the fields of garment, shoes & hats, and calligraphy & painting, while the program earns a positive prospect.
Another key program in the valley is China Color Center (CCC) which is completely done with color match training, activities for color themes, fashion shows, etc. Here, every audience could learn color knowledge, participate in various parties, and enjoy the latest fashions to feel the power of color explaining trend, changing life, creating value as well as constructing a city. Through the color project, Qingdao is gradually forging a new stylish city with “sharp fashion sense”.
History & colors present new beautiful appearance
The Textile Valley is built on the site of the former Qingdao state-owned cotton factory, scattered orderly industrial plants. Its surely quite a sight to see the uniformed workers mixed with fashion visitors. History and reality, industry and fashion perfectly blend with each other here in the valley.
After hearing the master plan, the reporter finds that the whole base, different from the traditional industry parks, is filled with color elements. From its outside to inside, and from day to night, it is totally a fashion feast in color. Up till the present moment, those old plants, suffering a hundred-year wind and rain, are being decorated with many colors to remold history to be gorgeous in this life.
As it is open and inclusive, tomorrows Textile Valley will be a more functional, culturally advanced and excelsior base to display a textile “Manhattan” in China.
