In October of 1964, as the trial explosion of our first atom bomb succeeded, the scientists began to throw themselves into the research of hydrogen bomb immediately. As the basic research is weak, Chinese scientists have little understanding of hydrogen bomb. Most of them just knew that the hydrogen bombs principle was nuclear fusion, while the atom bombs principle was nuclear fission, the hydrogen bomb should be detonated with atom bomb as the trigger, and through the process from fission to fusion, explosion of higher equivalent weight was caused. In order to develop hydrogen weapons, the scientists dug deep to look for the foreign documents, cudgeled their brains to learn the explosion theory, calculated the experiment data accurately time after time. The scientists finally studied out the fusion theory successfully, and made out our own hydrogen bomb. On the morning of June 17, 1967, an airplane dropped Chinas first hydrogen bomb above the sky of Luobupo in Xinjiang, the bomb exploded at the position 3000 meters high above the ground, and the mushroom cloud rose. From atom bomb to hydrogen bomb, America cost 7 years and 3 months, the Soviet Union took 4 years and 3 months, but our country took just 2 years and 8 months.
