In commemoration1) of the South African revolutionary's passing, here are some of his wise words that remind us all how to be better to each other.

A good head and a good heart are always a formidable2) combination. 精明的头脑和善良的心灵从来都是一个威力巨大的组合。

Does anybody really think that they didn't get what they had because they didn't have the talent or the strength or the endurance3) or the commitment4)? 难道真的有人认为他们没有成功是因为他们缺乏才华、力量、耐心或是没有全身心投入吗?

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite. 没有人生来就会因为别人的肤色、背景或者宗教而仇恨别人。仇恨乃后天养成。既然人们可以学会仇恨,那就可以学会爱,因为对于人心而言,爱总比恨来得更为自然。
