Once you identify the source of joy in life， there is nothing to keep you from happiness.

一旦你找出人生喜乐的源泉，没有什么事能让你不幸福。

Keep your nose clean and make yourself useful in life.

避免制造麻烦，让你自己在人生中显得有用。 （keep one's nose clean = stay out of trouble）

Always treat others as you wish to be treated.

对待别人，要像你要别人怎样对待你一样。

If your friend appears to be upset， give him/her a smile and a thumbs up.

假如你的朋友不开心，给他/她一个笑容，并举出大姆指。（thumbs用复数，本指双手的大姆指，但习惯上前面仍用a）

Life is not a dress rehearsal； you need to put something in your life that gives you joy.

生命不是服装预演，你必须在你生命中加些使你快乐的东西。 （dress rehearsal可以重复排练，但生命只一次，不能重复）

We cannot depend on someone else to make us happy or make us whole.

我们不能依靠别人使我们幸福或健康。 （whole指完整的，without anything broken，也就是healthy）

A person without goals in life is like a ship without a rudder.

一个人在人生中没有目标 ，就像一只船没有舵一样。（rudder is to guide the ship）

We need to grow up enough to forgive and forget.

我们必须有足够的成熟，才能做到“宽恕”和“忘记”。

The pursuit of possession is not a path to happiness； it can actually accomplish the opposite.

追求财富的拥有，不是走向幸福的通道；其实也有相反的结果。

Fame can be fleeting and success short-lived； don't get too big for your britches.

名声会迅速地消失，成功也很暂短；不必因为声望而自视过高。（fleet很快消失；britches本是裤子；too big for one's britches照字义：膨胀过大，穿不上裤子，也就是趾高气扬，骄傲自大）

Today you may be drinking the wine， tomorrow you could be picking the grapes.

今天你也许饮酒作乐，明天你又可能辛劳工作。（意谓生活好坏不定）（pick the grapes采葡萄，是件辛苦的事）

You can spend your entire life trying to be what other people want you to be and never succeed.

你能花一生的精力，去做别人要你做的事，但无法成功。

Try to be a CEO of your life.

做你自己人生的执行长。（创造你自己的人生）

Take the bull by the horns and do what you should have done in the first place.

一开始，你就要勇敢地去做你应该要做的事。 （ take the bull by the horns照字义：捉住公牛的角，就是大胆地不怕危险或困难=take charge； not be afraid）

Do not subject anybody to your lifestyle.

不可强求任何人去跟随你的生活方式。

（也就是：Do not force anyone to follow your lifestyle）

We have a lot more hurdles to jump over and mistakes to do over in life.

在人生中，我们有许多障碍要越过，有许多错误要改正。（hurdle跳栏障碍）

Don't let the years slip away without embracing whatever will become the centerpiece of your life.

不可让岁月轻易流失而没有掌控住本可以成为你人生重要部分的东西。

（slip away=disappear； embrace=to hold； centerpiece=centrepiece=the most important part）

Good judgment comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgment.

好的判断来自经验；经验来自坏的判断。（编辑/立原）
