Dublin,One of the Most Youthful Cities in Europe

Dublin is the capital and the largest city in Ireland.Interestingly,the word Dublin means black pool inIrish(爱尔兰语).The city is located near the middle part of Ireland’s east coast with a population of over 1 million.

爱尔兰的首都都柏林是爱尔兰最大的城市。有趣的是，这个城市的名字在爱尔兰语里是黑色池塘的意思。都柏林位于爱尔兰东海岸中部附近，其城市人口约为100万。

Dublin is among the top 30 cities in the world.According to a European-widesurvey(调查)by BBC in 2003,interviewing 11,200residents(居民)of 112 areas in cities and countries,Dublin was the best capital city in Europe to live in,and Ireland was the mostdelightful(令人愉快的)country in Europe.

如今，都柏林是世界排名前三十的城市之一。2003年，英国广播公司在全欧洲范围内做了一项调查，在城市和农村的112个地区采访了一万一千两百位居民，得出了都柏林是欧洲最好的首都城市这一结论。同时受访者也表示爱尔兰是欧洲最令人愉快的国家。

Dublin experiencesmild(温和的)winters and cool summers.There is noextreme(极度的)cold or hot time.Theaverage(平均的)maximum(最高的)temperature in July is only 18.9°C.Manylandmarks buildings(地标式建筑)and parks also make this city more charming.

都柏林冬天温和，夏天凉爽，没有极度寒冷或炎热的时节。7月份都柏林的平均最高气温也不过摄氏18.9度。这个城市的众多地标式建筑和公园也为其增色不少。

Dublin is regarded as one of the most youthful cities in Europe.About half of its citizens are younger than 25 years old.In 2009,Dublin was voted the friendliest city in Europe.There are several pubs across the city centre.Live music is popularly played on streets throughout Dublin and the city has produced several musicians and groups of international success,including Westlife.

都柏林被认为是欧洲最年轻的城市之一。城市中约有一半的人还不到25岁。在2009年，都柏林被选为欧洲最友好的城市。市中心坐落着许多酒吧。都柏林的街道上活跃着各式各样的现场音乐演出，这个城市里走出不少国际著名的音乐家和乐队，西城男孩就是其中之一。
