Jinbei Aluminum Co., Ltd Become the Asia’s Third Largest Alumina Producer

According to Dr. Sun Jinhua, General Manager of Luneng Jinbei Aluminum Co., Ltd in Shanxi Province, the second stage of the company’s one million ton alumina project was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in September 2007 and construction began the same year. The main focus of the project is mainly a Bayer production system, a red mud sintering system, a selfsufficient thermal power station, a gas station, a self-sufficient bauxite mine and other facilities.Total investment is planned at RMB5.5 billion.When the project is completed and operating,Luneng Jinbei Aluminum Co., Ltd will become the third largest alumina production base in Asia.

The construction and installation are currently progressing smoothly; the project will be completed soon and officially put into operation by May or June. Upon operation, it is expected to create an annual sales revenue of RMB2.14 billion and profit and taxes of RMB737 million.By then, Jinbei Aluminum Co., Ltd will have an annual output of 2 million tons of alumina, a sales revenue of RMB5 billion and profits and taxes of RMB1 billion. At the same time, the economic and social development in the surrounding areas will benefit greatly from this large project.

As the leading company in both the city of Xinzhou and the province of Shanxi, Jinbei Aluminum Co., Ltd has been one of the biggest taxpayers in recent years. Their tax payments have accounted for approximately 10% of Xinzhou’s fiscal revenue and approximately 60% of the fiscal revenue of Yuanping City.
