《走向世界》是一本外宣杂志,但其文风却平实近人。从20年前学兄杨学锋约我写稿,这本印刷精美的杂志就像自己的家人一样时时给我带来发表作品的愉悦和快乐,并影响和帮助我改变了以往的文风和观念,让我从“八股”走向平实。
记得第一次应约写的是一篇关于古代丝绸的短文,但在学兄的严格编辑下,文章反复修改了七八次,而且每一次修改几乎都是大动筋骨,重起炉灶,以至于时为副总编辑的学兄见我为了不足3000字的小文章穿梭往来的时候,有些歉意。学锋所以要我把文章反复修改,其用意是希望我在撰写科普类文章的时候能够用最简练的语言揭示出深刻本质和价值,并用一种平实的散文风格,使文物考古类的介绍文章更具备可读性,让一般读者在很短的时间内读懂历史文化,了解其重要价值和特色。应该说,学锋的严格不仅改变了我的写作文风,而且也改变了我对历史文化研究工作的重新认识。那就是研究学问的目的就是服务社会,学问应该让公众受益。研究性文章除了其严谨的治学态度和科学论证外,也应该具有可读性。大学问要有大思路,但贴近生活的小题目同样也可以做出大学问。这可是个认识论的大问题,学兄通过指导我改稿子改文风,改变了我认识历史和社会的思想方法。
《走向世界》作为一本外宣杂志,还以其敏锐的新闻视角,发现和推出了众多文化新闻,如齐涛教授的大洪水理论,刘德增教授的秦始皇兵马俑军阵之谜等等均被《新华文摘》所转发。而我写的“齐长城”介绍,也因为揭示了中国最古老的长城的事实,文章几乎被当作了新闻稿由多家媒体转发。山东大学栾丰实教授在邹平发掘的那一片带有刻画符号的龙山文化陶片,也因为首先在《走向世界》上的发表而轰动了学术界。
回首往事,《走向世界》虽然不是一本学术杂志,但却始终保持着学术的敏锐度,其科普类学术短文也已经形成了自己鲜明的风格,给作者和读者一种务实的影响,给国内外一种平实和厚重的文化印象。

The Impression of Artless ness
Openings is a foreign-oriented magazine and its writing style is artless. Twenty years ago, my college friend Yang Xuefeng invited me to write an article for this magazine. From then on, Openings has always brought me joy just like my family. This magazine influenced me and helped me change my writing style and concept—from stereotype to artless.
As a foreign-oriented magazine, Openings has an acute visual angle on news and discovered many cultural items such as the Mega-floods Theory of Professor Qi Tao, the Mystery of the Battle Array of Qin Warrior and Horse Figures written by Professor Liu Dezeng, which were both republished in the Xinhua Digest. My article the “Qi Great Wall” was also republished by many media for revealing the facts of the oldest Great Wall of China. The article about Professor Luan Fengshi of Shandong University discovering a broken pottery piece with carved marks of Longshan culture in Zouping, first published in Openings, later created a sensation in academe.
