I prefer music that has great lyrics.
I like geography,but I prefer math.
Which subject do you prefer,English or math?
Do you prefer apples or bananas?
I prefer to walk there.
Its very hot today, and I prefer to stay at home.
She prefers to live among the working people.
She prefers living in the countryside.
He preferred spending his spare time doing some serious reading.
They preferred him to go there with them.
She preferred him to spend all day outside.
The director preferred her to act the old lady.
He preferred that nothing should be said about the accident.
Would you prefer that I come on Monday instead of on Tuesday?
1. prefer... to...
I prefer classical music to popular music.
Mike prefers cheese to ice cream.

I prefer working to sitting idle.
Many people prefer watching TV at home to seeing films at the cinema at present.
2. prefer to do... rather than do...
I would prefer to spend the weekend at home rather than drive all the way to your mothers.
