Editor's note：In 1971,as U.S. President Richard Nixon's specialenvoy,then-National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger madea secret trio to China．What greeted him were Slogans paintedon WallS along the road from BeijingS Nanyuan Airport tO theDiaoyutai State Guesthouse．and their gist was：“Down withthe American imperialists and all reactionaries.” It was unimagi-nable then that Kissinger, at the age of 85, would visit Beijing 37years later；this time with his family as spectators at the BeijingOlympiC Games．In between sporting events, he took his familyto visit his old friend, 96-year-old Huang Hua，who was the ne-gotiator and host of hiS 1971 visit．
