ZTECorporation(ZTE),a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions,announced on October 25,2007,to launch the world's first WCDMA commercial Home NodeB,also known as femto cell,ZXWRH8901.The new technology was officially rolled out at PT/Wireless&Networks Comm China 2007 held in Beijing,China,on October 23-27,2007.
ZTE's Home NodeB ZXWRH8901 supports communication of up to four users online,with a user data rate of up to 7.2 Mb/s.The 3G Home NodeB technology optimizes the indoor 3G facility for the user within their home or workplace,thus enabling FMC(fixed-mobile convergence)communication service via one device while maintaining a reliable connection.The convergence of mobile business into Home NodeB usage also helps providers reduce significant investment and maintenance costs.
