We all know that fish live inwater. But， there is a kind of fishwhich lives in the desert.Difficult to believe？ Well， there isa kind of fish called the lungfish， which are found in Africa. When the riversoverflow2， their water goes to the dry places around. It makes small lakes. Thefish lives in these lakes.

And， when the lakes dry up， the lung fish don’t die. They bury3 themselves inthe wet mud4 where they can live for months. Specially， if they go deep underground.Sometimes， these fish have been found several metres under the ground.

Lungfish are one of the oldest fishes found on earth today. They are verymuch like the fish that lived 200 million years ago at the beginning of theMesozoic era. It was a time when dinosaurs， fish， flying reptiles5 and evergreentrees were found on the Earth.

我们都知道鱼生活在水中。但是，有一种鱼生活在沙漠中。
