Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway Marks Six-Month Operation

As of April 17, 2024, the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway had been in operation for half a year, with continuously growing passenger flow. Over the six months, it transported a total of 2.56 million passengers, and trains safely traveled over 1.26 million kilometers, delivering safe, stable, and orderly transportation.

The Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway connects Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, with Bandung, a famous tourist city. It is the first high-speed railway in both Indonesia and Southeast Asia, with a maximum operating speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It has shortened the travel time between the two cities from over three hours to just over 40 minutes. This is a flagship project for China and Indonesia as part of the Belt and Road Initiative, providing Indonesian people with a safe, green, and efficient travel.

Successful Launch of Shenzhou-18

A Long March-2F carrier rocket carrying the Shenzhou-18 spacecraft with three Chinese astronauts on board blasted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern China at 8:59 p.m. on April 25, 2024. About 10 minutes after the launch, the Shenzhou-18 spacecraft separated from the rocket and entered its designated orbit.
