
On April 15, 2024, the “Concepts of Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Learning International Symposium” was co-hosted by the Office of the State Council Information Office of China, UNESCO, and the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France. Scholars and experts gathered to discuss “Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Learning and a Shared Human Vision,” praising China’s active role in promoting civilizational exchange. Guests from China and abroad participated in two-panel discussions: “The Silk Road: A Brilliant Chapter in Human Cultural Exchange” and “Intercultural Dialogue in Today’s World.” They explored the relevance of the ancient Silk Road to modern civilizational exchange and called for the promotion of inclusivity, shared benefits, cooperation, and dialogue to advance civilizational exchange and peaceful development. Outside the conference venue, the “Future World” international youth art exhibition depicted a colorful world as seen through the eyes of young people, embracing the concept of civilizational mutual learning and the flourishing of diverse cultures. Additionally, the symposium featured a complementary “Chinese Culture Gathering” exhibition and reception. Guests from various countries watched the “Future World” international youth art exhibition and enjoyed a choral performance, appreciating the profound cultural depth and extraordinary charm of Chinese culture.
