The 11th Mao Dun Literature Award Winners Announced in Beijing

On August 11th, the 11th Mao Dun Literature Award winners were announced in Beijing. The awarded works include Xue Shan Da Di (The Snow Mountain and the Homeland) by Yang Zhijun, Qiao Yes Baoshui Village (published by Beijing October Literature and Art Publishing House), Liu Liangchengs Benba (published by Yilin Press), Sun Ganlus A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains (published by Shanghai Literature and Art Publishing House), and Dong Xis Resonance. Among the five award-winning authors, two were born in the 1950s, two in the 1960s, and one in the 1970s.

The Mao Dun Literature Award, organized by China Writers Association, is awarded every four years. It has significantly contributed to the flourishing of long-form novel creation, the establishment of contemporary literary classics, the embodiment of the spirit of the times in literature, and the advancement of literary endeavors. The scope of the 11th Mao Dun Literature Award covered long-form novels published for the first time in the mainland of China between 2019 and 2022. The submission process for eligible works began on March 15th this year and concluded on April 30th.

The award ceremony for the 11th Mao Dun Literature Award will be held in Tongxiang, Zhejiang Province, the hometown of Mao Dun, in mid-November.
