TEN YEARS ON,VISION OF SHARED FUTURE FLOURISHES

First proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Russia in 2013, the vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity has been widely hailed as a quintessential embodiment of Chinese wisdom and China’s solution to global challenges.

Ten years on, the vision is being transformed into reality, providing important guidance for the world to maintain peace and boost development.The vision has also been fleshed out with the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative.

Data showed that over the past decade, the BRI has prompted investment of nearly US$1 trillion, generated over 3,000 cooperation projects, created some 420,000 jobs in countries along the routes, and helped lift nearly 40 million people out of poverty.All the facts show that the vision of a shared future reflects the common aspirations of people across the globe and represents the right direction of global development by addressing the world’s deficit in peace, development, security, and governance.It is a vision for an open, inclusive, clean, and beautiful world with lasting peace, universal security, and common prosperity.
