Recently, the world"s largest 9400CEU LNG dual-fuel powered very large PCTC with completely independent IPRs, independently developed by CSSC SDARI, has been granted the AiP certification by DNV.
This marks a major breakthrough and phased achievement made by China in the independent research and development of very large clean energy PCTC with more than 9,000CEU. It will guide the innovative transformation and upgrading of global PCTC and the green and low-carbon development,and help Chinese shipbuilding enterprises take up a more favorable position in the PCTC construction field.
We learn that the 9400CEU PCTC has achieved system integration optimization, with the lowest CEU cost, the lowest CEU carbon emissions, more market competitive loading capacity and fuel economy.The ship adopts a forward-looking design, fully meets the future all-ship electric vehicle transport needs, can meet the future vision of ship owners.It applies the "ammonia fuel ready"scheme, it can be converted into blue ammonia and green ammonia fuel in the future, providing a new PCTC carbon neutrality solution for the construction of the international"green shipping corridor" project.The ship also carries larger-capacity lithium batteries to provide clean electricity for ships entering and leaving port, and charging through axle generators during a voyage helps achieve the zero-carbon target.

In March this year, China"s first ammonia fuel powered 7000CEU PCTC independently developed and designed by SDARI obtained the AiP certification conducted by DNV,receiving wide attention and favor from the industry, who claimed the ship type is expected to become the iconic green ship type for the new generation of zero-carbon PCTC. At the same time, SDARI successfully developed a number of new LNG dual-fuel powered PCTC, including 7000CEU, 7600CEU and 8600CEU,and obtained batch orders.
As of the beginning of October this year, SDARI had received 55-PCTC design orders this year, with a global market share of 67%, ranking first in the world. In addition, the world"s first dual-fuel-cell hybrid 3600CEU PCTC and 7500CEU ultra-Panamax dual-fuel PCTC developed by the institute have also won successive international awards.
