唱响艺术双城记 共谱川剧新华章

“Setting sail, Hei! Hei!”, lights on the stage dazzled the full house.On the evening of June 29, the grand opening performance ofresounded through the Chongqing Chuanju(Sichuan Opera) Art Center, where the 5Chuanju Festival kicked off with magnificent, breathtaking tunes.

This is the first time that the Chuanju Festival landed in Chongqing.Chuanju artists from both Sichuan and Chongqing gathered in the mountain city to present an artistic feast to theater fans.

“开船咯，嘿咗嘿！嘿咗嘿！”舞台上灯光逐渐亮起，舞台下座无虚席。6月29日晚，一首雄壮激烈的川江号子响彻重庆川剧艺术中心，大气磅礴、震撼人心的曲调拉开第五届川剧节序幕。

这是川剧节首次落地重庆，川渝两地川剧艺术家汇聚山城，为戏迷奉上川剧艺术盛宴。

With the theme of “Singing the Art of Two Cities and Writing a New Chapter of Chuanju”, the 5Chuanju Festival is guided by the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, organized by the Publicity Department of CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, the Publicity Department of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Administration, and hosted by Chongqing Chuanju Theater. This event aims to accelerate the construction of Ba-Shu Cultural Tourism Corridor and further inherit and develop the art of Chuanju.

The main activities of this year’s Chuanju Festival will last for 15 days,and an online art exhibition of Chuanju stereoscopic images will continue until September. During the Festival, 17 excellent plays of Chuanju will be presented by the host (including one opening concert, 7 high-quality big curtain plays, 5 high-qualityOpera plays, and 4 special performances)at the Grand Theater of Chongqing Chuanju Art Center, the Middle Theater of Chongqing Grand Theater, the Theater of Chongqing Guotai Art Center, and the Qunxing Theater. And 12 big names who have won the Plum Blossom Awards from Sichuan and Chongqing, such as Shen Tiemei and Chen Zhilin,will perform on the stage to provide a feast for the vast audience and fans.

Chuanju, a national intangible cultural heritage, is the traditional local drama form of Sichuan and Chongqing. It is also the cultural root of the area,the cultural identity, and the emotional bond of the Sichuan and Chongqing people. The keyword of this year’s festival is “breaking the circle”, that is, to break through from the niche opera circle and expand to the mainstream.

第五届川剧节以“唱响艺术双城记，共谱川剧新华章”为主题，由文化和旅游部艺术司指导，中共重庆市委宣传部、中共四川省委宣传部，重庆市文化和旅游发展委员会、四川省文化和旅游厅、重庆两江新区管理委员会主办，重庆市川剧院承办，旨在加快推进巴蜀文化旅游走廊建设，进一步传承发展好川剧艺术。

本届川剧节主体活动为期15天，川剧立体影像艺术线上展将持续至9月。活动期间，主办方在重庆川剧艺术中心大剧院、重庆大剧院中剧场、重庆国泰艺术中心剧院和群星剧院等剧场展演17场各型演出，包括川剧节开幕音乐演唱会1场、精品大幕戏7场、精品折子戏专场5场、川剧节特色演出专场4场。沈铁梅、陈智林等12位川渝两地梅花奖获得者悉数登场表演，让广大戏迷观众一饱眼福。

国家级非物质文化遗产川剧，是川渝两地共同的地方戏剧种，是两地民众相亲相融的文化之根，更是两地民众共同的精神家园和情感纽带。本届川剧节的关键词是“破圈”，即突破小众的戏曲圈，扩展到民众喜闻乐见的大众圈。

“If you know about Chuanju, you will fall in love with it. Chuanju in the new era needs excellent performers, outstanding plays and attract more audience,” said Shen Tiemei, Vice Chairman of China Theater Association, Chairman of the Chongqing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and President of the Chongqing Chuanju Theater. Shen said that with the changes of the times,Chuanju is relatively distant from modern life. As a result,it has become an art form limited to the opera circle. This Chuanju Festival aims to bring Chuanju into the public as a spotlight on culture and tourism. The rise of Chuanju (entering the circle) represents a new opportunity offered by our times, and its popularity (going out of the circle) symbolizes new progress of innovation. As one of the symbols of China’s excellent traditional culture, it plays an important role in generating emotional resonance and promoting the development of culture and tourism in the construction of Ba-Shu Cultural Tourism Corridor.

In addition to the show of excellent Chuanju plays, the festival also includes various Chuanju-related activities, such as square dancing performance, carnival, an academic discussion with the theme of “New Era, New Opportunity, New Genres”and an online art exhibition of stereoscopic images.

“了解川剧就会爱上川剧。新时代的川剧需要出人、出戏、出观众。”中国剧协副主席、重庆市文联主席、重庆市川剧院院长沈铁梅表示，随着时代变迁，川剧与现代生活形态距离拉远，成为局限于戏曲圈的艺术。本次川剧节就是为了让川剧走出戏曲圈，走进大众圈、文旅圈。“入圈”是时代的新机遇，“出圈”是创新的新发展。川剧作为中华优秀传统文化的代表之一，在建设巴蜀文化旅游走廊中，将发挥情感共鸣、旋律共振、文旅共促的重要作用。

On June 30, a flash mob of the Chuanju Festival held in the Mountain City Alley of Yuzhong District was warmly welcomed. The whole alley was filled with continuous cheers and climaxes. All the scenes, including the stunts of facechanging, fire-spitting and martial arts, professional actors’singing, reading, acting, moving, and dancing with movements of their hands, eyes, bodies, and steps, and the performance with traditional Chinese fighting tools like swords, spears, and halberds, wowed the citizens and tourists with the charms of Chuanju closely.

The festival also cooperated with Douyin to launch a video challenge of square dancing, setting the topic as “Dancing with Gongs and Drums”. Through online and offline activities, the public can get in touch with, understand, and fall in love with Chuanju, feel its artistic charm, and share the achievements of cultural development.

除举办川剧优秀剧目展演外，川剧节还举办川剧广场舞展演、川剧嘉年华、川剧发展的“新时代·新机遇·新流派”学术交流会和川剧立体影像艺术线上展等活动，内容丰富，形式多样。

6月30日，在渝中区山城巷举行的“川剧快闪山城巷”深受广大市民与游客欢迎。整个山城巷欢声不断，高潮迭起。川剧绝活变脸、喷火、武打等表演相继登场，专业演员的“唱念做打舞、手眼身法步”，“刀枪剑戟”各种兵器对打的动作场面，让市民游客近距离感受到了川剧的魅力。

此外，本届川剧节还联合抖音推出视频挑战赛，设置话题“弄丑弄弄壮共壮”，通过开展线上线下活动，让市民接触川剧、感悟川剧、爱上川剧，感受戏曲艺术魅力，共享文化发展成果。
