Hua Tuo was a great 1）medical scientist in the late Eastern Han Dynasty.He had 2）excellent medical skills and always made a right judgement of theillness.

One day， two men came to his home .Both of them said they hadheadache and fever. But， after 3）diagnosing two of them， Hua Tuo gave themtwo kinds of different medicine. These two men were confused and asked， “Wehave the same 4）symptom， why should we take different medicine？” HuaTuo smiled and explained， “Although your symptom looks the same， it was caused by different causes. So you should take different medicine.”

Soon after， these two men 5）recovered.

華佗是东汉末年著名的医学家。他医术高明，断症准确。

有一次，两个人一同到华佗那儿看病，他们诉说的病症相同：头痛发热。华佗分别给两人诊脉后，给两人开了不同的药。两人看了药方，感到非常奇怪，问：“我们两人的症状相同，为什么吃的药却不同呢？”华佗笑着解释说：“你俩只是病症的表象类似，实则病因却大不相同。所以给你们用不同的药治疗。”

两人服药后，没过多久，病都痊愈了。

Background Knowledge

Hua Tuo went on a study tour practicing medicine in Anhui， Henan， Shandong， Jiangsu and other places when he was young. He studied medicine instead of seeking a political career. He had all kinds of medical skills， especially was good at surgery. And proficient in internal medicine， gynaecology， pediatrics， acupuncture and moxibustion. Hua Tuo is known as the “master of surgery” and the “father of surgery” by later generations. Now we often use the phrase “Hua Tuo reborn” to praise doctors with outstanding medical skills.

华佗少时曾在外游历，行医足迹遍及现在的安徽、河南、山东、江苏等地。他钻研医术而不求仕途。他医术全面，尤其擅长外科手术。他还精通内科、妇科、儿科、针术和灸法。华佗被后人称为“外科圣手”“外科鼻祖”。现在，我们常用“华佗再世”称赞有杰出医术的医生。
