01. China-ASEAN Expo testifies to resilient regional economy, fosters greater recovery

Sept. 13, 2021 (China Daily) — The ongoing 18th China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit held on time despite a raging pandemic worldwide has testified to the vitality and resilience of an integrated regional market, and showcases the potentials of a key platform to make possible all-round trade and economic cooperation. Starting Friday both online and offline in Nanning, capital of South Chinas Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, the four-day expo has attracted enterprises from more than 40 countries and regions, with special events to mark the 30th anniversary of China-ASEAN dialogue relations.

02. China and Laos pledge to deepen trade, diplomatic ties

Sept. 13, 2021 (China Daily) — As Laos and China mark the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties, officials and business heavyweights from both countries are committed to building the Laos-China community with a shared future. Sonexay Siphandone, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of planning and investment of Laos, said the two countries have formed a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and Laos has been working to attract investment to transform the landlocked country into a land-linked one.

03. China, Singapore committed to further cooperation, China-ASEAN ties

Sept. 15, 2021 (China Daily) — Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong met with visiting Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi here on Tuesday, with both sides expressing willingness to further promote cooperation in all areas and boost China-ASEAN ties. During the talks, Wang said that the development of China-Singapore relations has maintained momentum over the past 30 years thanks to the strategic leadership of both sides, the concerted efforts of all walks of life in the two countries, and Singapore's rational and objective perspective towards Chinas growth and its ability to find cooperative opportunities from the growth to achieve mutual success.

04. 18th China-ASEAN Expo concludes with record deals

Sept. 15, 2021 (China Daily) — A total of 179 deals worth a record-high combined value of over 300 billion yuan (about US$ 46.59 billion) were signed during the 18th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the concurrent China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS). Themed "Sharing Opportunities Created by the New Land-Sea Corridor, Building the China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future,” this years expo aimed to deepen all-around cooperation in trade, economy and other fields between China and ASEAN and consolidate the high-level dialogue platform.

05. Sino-ASEAN trade deals, policies set to unlock new potential

Sept. 16, 2021 (China Daily) — Supportive policies and free trade deals will further unlock the growth potential between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and give impetus to the global economy in the coming years, government officials and business leaders said. Chinas General Administration of Customs and the government of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region jointly released the China-ASEAN Trade Index last week, a barometer of bilateral trade that provides a reference for government and trading companies.

06. China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week to feature art exhibits

Sept. 22, 2021 (China Daily) — Guiyang's China-ASEAN Teenager Culture and Art Center, as one of the venues for the 2021 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, will present an art education achievement exhibition on Sept 25-28. The exhibition will be open for free to the public from 10 am to 5 pm. To get there, people can take Metro Line 1 to Yaguan station and transfer to No 235 bus, or take Metro Line 2 to Baiyun Middle Road station and transfer to Baiyun 8 bus, then leave from Penglai Village station.

07. China in AEO talks with Malaysia and Thailand

Sept. 25, 2021 (China Daily) — China has completed initial mutual recognition consultations on the Customs-related Authorized Economic Operator, or AEO, certification program with Malaysia. It is also in talks with Thailand, said a Customs official on Friday. The AEO program is intended to further enrich the cooperative content in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement framework. The program is advocated by the World Customs Organization to strengthen international supply chain security and facilitate movement of legitimate goods.

08. Nations cross-border e-commerce with ASEAN accelerates

Sept. 27, 2021 (China Daily) — he past summer vacation has been especially busy for Jariya Unthong, a Thai-language teacher based in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, who has been routinely invited by a local company to livestream and peddle products to Thai consumers via e-commerce platform Lazada. Unthong is a teacher from Guangxi University in the regional capital of Nanning and has lived in the city for more than a decade. Since last year, she has been livestreaming products and training new live-streamers for Nanning-headquartered cross-border e-commerce company Tus-Innovation.
