Ⅰ. It is an argument.
Ⅱ. The popularity of Versailles-style words.
Ⅲ. 1. Origin 2. Characteristics 3. Causes 4. Opinions
IV. 1. It is being used to describe literary content which pretends to casually show off one's privileged life. The term comes from The Rose of Versailles, a Japanese manga which reflects the noble and wealthy life at the palace of Versailles in France in the late 18th century.
2. They express the feeling of superiority through reverse expressions with simple tones.
3. There are three factors contributing to the rise of Versailles-style words. The first one is the influence of some Chinese TV and film works. In these works, a rich, wealthy, comfortable and luxurious life is presented to audiences, providing targets and examples for audiences who are in the middle class. The second one is some social media influencers. These influencers describe and show off their privilege and superiority in a humblebrag style. The last factor is the change of people's interaction. In the past, people directly showed their wealth in real interactions. However, now more people show off in a roundabout way for comparative psychological advantage due to the new media, which they believe is smarter and more acceptable.
4. Some netizens thought Meng Qiqi's description was enviable while other netizens thought it was funny and hypocritical.
5. In Shi Gang's view, Versailles-style words'popularity is many people's deep inner vanity that cannot be put on the table. Especially, the prevailing Internet economy drives some people to imagine a wide “audience” and rely on others' watching and promoting them to shape their own identity.
6. Versailles-style words are likely to influence people in two aspects. Firstly, they will give audiences an illusion that the perfect life in the description can be found in real life, which actually must be achieved through hard work and determination. Secondly, those who read the words might feel inferior to others, especially to those who release the Versailles-style words, which might lead to the declination of their self-esteem.
Ⅴ. Any answer is possible as long as it makes sense. However, one possible version may go like this.
Personally, Versailles-style words will not exist in the long run despite the fact that they are prevailing nowadays. There are several reasons accounting for this. In the first place, when Versaillesstyle words come into the public's horizons, people might be interested in their unique style which boasts in a humble and roundabout way. However,as time passes by, people might feel bored with its style and trick. In the second place, Versailles-style words lack sincerity. As we know, such words often convey the psychological advantage of the bloggers in an indirect way. Actually, in today's society, where sincerity should come first, such behavior may seem too vain and hypocritical to accept and they might also make the readers feel injured compared to the luxurious life of the bloggers. Equally important is that people who read those words will gradually have a better taste to appreciate authentic literature and form a sharper sense to distinguish between right and wrong. Once they have formed a higher aesthetic, what they choose to do is just to turn their back on those hypocritical words. Finally, the bloggers who have a deep inner vanity that cannot be put on the table will also find it tough to truly feel contented because people's happiness and feeling of superiority do not come from appearance, wealth, status or power. Instead, both of them come only from the lack of knowledge and compassion. In a word, I believe time will tell that Versailles-style will not be everlasting. It is just a sensation after all.
Dear mom,
Today I am writing to you to have a heart-toheart talk with you. As your only son, I am so thankful to you for what you have been doing for me in the past years. It is you that have given me the courage and the power to conquer all the adversities. I am so lucky that I can make an excellent student as well as a good son with your instruction. Thank you, mom, for all the pains you have taken to raise me up.
However, as your only child, I am experiencing one growing pain. Sometimes, you release some information about my academic performances on your WeChat Moments, which sometimes puts me under great pressure. For one thing, I am afraid that I cannot perform well all the time. If one day,I fail to live up to your expectation, you might feel extremely disappointed. For another thing, I am worried that I will get isolated from others. In fact,I really appreciate your Versailles-style words about me. However, my classmates, friends and relatives might think your description is enviable and hypocritical. They may feel injured compared to the perfect performance of me. For the third thing, our happiness and feeling of superiority do not come from appearance, wealth, status or power.Instead, both of them come only from the inner abundance. Actually, a person's confidence and sense of achievements aren't based on the judgement of others. For the last thing, success is not a destination but a process. Therefore, what I should do is just to stay hungry, stay foolish and keep moving.
Dear mom, for the past years, you have been my best life tutor; for the years to come, you will remain my biggest supporter. It is at your knees that I acquire my noblest and truest and highest ideals. I strongly believe in Ernest Miller Hemingway's saying that there is nothing noble in being superior to some other man; the true nobility is in being superior to your previous self. So let's just let go of those Versailles-style words and strive for a better ourselves together.
You will always be my superhero and I will always be with you.
Yours sincerely,
Your son, Li Hua

Paragraph 1:
The father asked, “Did you find the treasure?”“The journey was fantastic. But forgive me for I wasn't able to find the treasure,” the son said.“There wasn't any treasure, my son,” the father answered smiling. “But why did you send me to find it then?” the son asked. “I will surely tell you why, but first tell me, how was your journey? Did you enjoy it?” “Of course not, father! I was worried that someone else would find the treasure before I did.”
Paragraph 2:
The son continued, “But I did enjoy the journey on my way back home.” He was excited. “I made many friends. I learned so many different skills. There was so much to learn that I forgot the pain of not finding the treasure. The father said to him, “Exactly, my son. Everyone wants a goal in life. But if you pay too much attention to the goal, then you will miss out on the real treasures of life. The truth is that life has no goal at all, other than just experiencing it and growing with it every single day.”
