Task 1
I always dreamed of studying abroad, to learn at a world-class university while further exploring the grounds on which these nations achieved new milestones of development with each passing day.
To study abroad after my graduation, I could not stop seeking my dream. To take the first step, I did some brainstorming and explored opportunities on the Internet and finally decided to go for China. There were a number of reasons behind it—its advanced education system and thousands of centuries of rich culture inspired me to study there. The primary one was my curiosity to see how a nation has left many nations behind in a short time at its fast pace of development.
So just like that, I applied, along with some of my friends, for a masters degree program at Communication University of China. I was the only one who got selected in the said program and in addition, the Chinese Scholarship Council sponsored all of my expenses. This good news was welcomed by my family.
This is my seventh month in Beijing. In my experience so far, one thing that appeared to be missing was the internship(實习期) which I tried to find because I wanted to work here after completion of my studies. After some struggles I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to work as an intern with the Center for China and Globalization(CCG). Its very exciting to work on their team as a researcher. Now I can proudly say that my decision to choose China as a study destination was the best decision I have ever made.

Task 2
The Ministry of Education and the National Cultural Heritage Administration co-released a document on Monday to illustrate a better use of museum resources for the school sector.
1 Syllabuses(教學大纲) of courses in schools, like Chinese, history, geography, fine arts, physics, chemistry, biology, among others, will include museum content. Various educational goals will be set for students in different grades. Local governments will follow to ensure financial support and proper evaluation of the educational activities related to museums.
More extracurricular activities after 3:30 pm are encouraged to feature museums, according to the document. Some creative forms like lectures, role-play games have attracted a great deal of students.
2 The new document aims to develop new channels making use of museums in school education.
3 According to the statistics of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, 5,535 museums had been registered on the Chinese mainland by the end of 2019. The actual total number could be around 7,000 if it includes the museums in universities and other institutions.
4 A problem is that the number of museums specializing in natural history in China is still outweighed by their counterparts focusing on human history, which could be a challenge when designing syllabuses in smaller cities.
Museums can be places for children to comprehensively expand their horizons of knowledge, nurture their artistic tastes and improve their sense of aesthetics. 5 But it cannot only be popular for a short time. A long-term interaction between museums and schools will have lasting benefits.
A. But the activities can be more interactive.
B. Its a good start to see a nation-level framework.
C. Nevertheless, the work cannot be done overnight.
D. The focus is on how to improve their performance.
E. The booming development of museums has created a foundation for it.
F. Schools are to design new activities based on collections in local museums.
G. And even comic books on museums can be used to increase students interest.

Daniel was 15 years old then. He grew up in a very poor neighborhood. No one in his family had gone to college before. Actually, few people around him had received higher education. They all struggled to live a good life. Therefore, Daniel knew nothing about colleges or scholarships and he never thought he would go to college one day. Although he was a smart boy, he didnt study hard at school and often got into trouble with other teenagers in his neighborhood.
One day, while Daniel was walking on the playground, a boy of his age started making fun of him. Then that boy pushed him hard and Daniel fell onto the ground. Daniel became so angry that he stood up and beat that boy. So a fight began.
It happened that Daniels English teacher Mr Smith was walking nearby. He immediately ran to the boys to stop the fight. Daniel was a bit worried because he knew his teacher was very strict with students. He was afraid his teacher would punish him. However, to his surprise, his teacher didnt do that.
“Daniel, lets have a talk,” said his teacher.
Daniel, not knowing what his teacher wanted to do, was very worried. But he nodded. So they went to a bench nearby and sat down. After they sat down, Mr Smith began,“Daniel, I know youre a smart boy, but youre wasting your life now. Why dont you study hard to go to college so that you can change your life and have a bright future?”
Hearing that, Daniel didnt know what to say. He had never thought about it. Daniel was in silence. Mr Smith continued,“I know you may have never thought about going to college. But everything is possible. When I was at your age, I was a troublemaker just like you and never thought Id be able to go to college, either. I made it because of the support and encouragement of Mr Brown, my math teacher in high school.”
