Polly and the Running Race

森林里将要举办一场5千米跑步比赛（running race），Harry、Polly和Allen三个好朋友都报名参加了。Harry和Allen每天都辛苦地训练，却不见Polly的身影。Polly去干什么了？他能在跑步比赛中发挥好吗？Lets read the story.

“Look！” says Harry. “Theres going to be a running race.

Im going to enter（加入）.”

“Me， too，” says Allen.

Notice：

● a running race

● five thousand meters

● on August 15th

Hope you will join us！

“How about you， Polly？”

asks Allen.

“Sure，” says Polly.

“Five thousand meters（5千米）will be easy for me.”

“Im going to start training（開始训练） now，” says Harry.

“Me， too，” says Allen.

“How about you， Polly？”

“Ill start my training tomorrow morning，” says Polly.

The next morning comes.

But Polly cant get up.

“Ill start my training in the afternoon，” he says to himself.

And he goes back to sleep.

After supper， Polly watches a TV show.

“I can start training tomorrow morning，” he says.

On the next morning， Polly sees Harry and Allen running.

But he sees his mother making pancakes（烤饼）.

“Ill start training till this afternoon，” says Polly.

That afternoon， Pollys uncle comes.

“Who wants to go to the cinema with me？” he asks.

“I do！” says Polly.

On the way to the cinema， Harry meets Polly.

“I can run three thousand meters now. How about you， Polly？” asks Harry.

“I will start my training tomorrow，” says Polly.
