A package of blueberry bubble gum
“Time to go, Jacob!” Mom called. Fouryearold Jacob hopped off his bed and ran downstairs. “What are we going to buy? Can I help you?” It was Jacobs turn to go shopping with Mom, and he was full of questions.
“We are going to buy groceries.” Jacob smiled as Mom helped him into his seat in the car and buckled the seat belt. This was going to be great! Mom pushed the grocery cart up and down the aisles(走廊) while Jacob held the shopping list. He helped organize the groceries and got to choose if they got red apples or yellow apples, and red potatoes or white potatoes. When they finished getting the items on the list, Jacob helped push the heavy cart up to the checkout line. He watched as the manager printed a receipt for what Mom had bought. Suddenly, Jacob noticed that the shelves he was standing by were full of candy and gum. Jacob saw a package of blueberry bubble gum and knew it tasted really good. He did have some money in his money jar at home, but he did not carry it right now. So he put the package in his pocket without paying for it.
When they got home, they carried the bags of groceries inside and put them on the kitchen counter. When Mom finally found Jacobs package of gum, she asked him carefully, “Did you take that gum from the store?”
Jacob nodded his head slowly. Mom looked sad. “Jacob, when we do something that is wrong—like taking gum from the store without paying for it—its stealing. We need to be honest.”
“What shall we do next?” Jacob asked.
“First, we need to know that we have done something wrong and feel sorry about it. Then we need to fix the problem the best we can. Since you already opened the package of gum and ate some of it, we cant give it back to the store. What do you think we should do?”

读后续写要求续写的部分在情节和逻辑方面与原文高度契合。为此,我们必须在掌握文本大意和叙述意图的前提下,分析所给文章的情境模式。
分析记叙文的情境模式,就需要关注5个“W”,即who、what、when、where、why。我们在阅读时要把握故事的情节线,分析故事的起因、开始和发展,并归纳出故事的主要矛盾,根據文章中已知的信息,如情感的线索、行为的线索、时间的线索、空间的线索等来推断将要发生的事情,合理构思续写部分的情节。
二、深度思考
基于原文和续写段落首句提供的信息,采用围绕中心提问的方法,构思要续写的故事情节,这个过程一般分为四步。
第一步,根据已给出的文本判断文章的立意。
根据所给出的情节“四岁的雅各布随妈妈一起购物时偷了商店的一包蓝莓泡泡糖”可推断出本文的立意应是“当我们犯了错误时要知错就改”。
第二步,根据续写第二段所给出的段首句倒推续写第一段应包括什么内容。
分析第二段的段首句可知,续写第一段要写“雅各布随妈妈再次来到商店找到经理”,这样才能确保续写的两段是相衔接的。
第三步,围绕续写第一段所给出的段首句以及上面的分析进行提问构思:
(1)What did Jacobs mother say when she heard what he had said?
(2)What did Jacob do after listening to his mother?
(3)What did Jacob and his mother do with his pocket money?
第四步,围绕续写第二段所给出的段首句进行提问构思:
(1)How did Jacob answer the managers question?
(2)What did Jacob do after answering the managers question?
(3)How did Jacob feel in the end?
三、润色成篇
在续写的过程中要注意情节连贯并确保各部分内容相衔接,即:1. 两段的续写与所给短文的衔接;2. 每段的续写与续写段段首句之间的衔接;3. 续写的两段之间的衔接。同时要注意语言风格的一致和语法、句型,以及所用词的准确性。比如,刻画人物形象时运用恰当的形容词使其栩栩如生;描写人物心理活动时使用一些动词或副词使其细微深入。
人生的道路是曲折的,谁都可能会犯错。错误可能是下一次错误的开始,也可能是成功的基石,它会带给你失败,更会给予你成功。
