My Hometown

黄子轩

My hometown is Changle（常乐）. It’s near the Yangtze River. It’s a small but beautiful town. I love it very much.

In spring， the trees are green and the flowers are blooming（盛开的）. The birdsong is everywhere. In summer， you can eat sweet watermelons and muskmelons（甜瓜）. In autumn， the crops are ripe. The farmers are busy harvesting. In winter， you can find so many juicy strawberries in my hometown. They taste great.

A great man named Zhang Jian（張謇） was born in Changle. He was one of the best scholars of the late Qing Dynasty（清朝末年）. He was the trailblazer（先驱） who built more than 370 schools and started over 20 businesses！
