Telling the Truth说实话

外面下着雨。Rico和Jorge只好在家玩起了气球。可Rico一不小心把妈妈的花瓶打碎了！该和妈妈说出是谁闯了祸吗？他们会怎么做呢？

It is a wet day， so Rico and Jorge have to play inside. They are playing with a balloon. Jorge hit the balloon. Rico jumps up to catch it. He bumps the table and the vase falls over.

“Oh no！” says Jorge. “We broke Mum’s vase.”

Mum comes into the room. “Oh dear！” she says.

“The cat did it， Mom，” says Rico.

“Yes，” says Jorge. “Tiger jumped up the table and your vase fell over.”

Mum cleans up the broken vase.

“We didn’t tell Mum the truth，” says Jorge.

“I don’t feel very well，” says Rico. Rico starts to cry.

“We can buy Mum a new vase，” Jorge says. “We have money in our money boxes. But right now we have to go and tell her the truth.”

“Mum，” says Jorge. “Tiger was asleep. He didn’t make your vase fall over.”

“It was us， Mum，” says Rico. “We were playing with the balloon and we bumped the table. We are very sorry！”

“Thank you， boys，” says Mum. “I’m so pleased that you came to tell me the truth.”

“I’m pleased， too，” says Jorge.
