A white egret flaps its wings

at the foot of the Western Mountains，

with perches gaining weight

in the river that reflects peach blossoms along the banks.

Wearing my blue bamboo hat，

and green straw coat，

I do not have to hurry back home

with the light wind and fine rain.

西塞山前白鷺飞，

桃花流水鳜鱼肥。

青箬笠，绿蓑衣，

斜风细雨不须归。

裘小龙翻译的《渔歌子》重在把中国文化中特有的元素解释给外国读者，消除不同文化之间的隔膜，使外国读者能理解中国诗歌的内涵。
