The Dirty Pig脏兮兮的猪

One fine day， a dirty pig was taking a bath in a pool. A thirsty1 lion came to drink water， but couldnt stand the heavy stench2 and went away. The foolish3 pig thought that the lion was afraid to see him.“Maybe tomorrow，” said the lion and turned away from the dirty pig. The pig got excited. He went home and told his parents he had met a coward4 lion.“What have you done you， foolish pig？ Its not you but your stench that made him run away，” said his father. The dirty pigs excitement5 went away at once. His father asked him to take a bath in the dirty waters so that he might stink6 even more and then meet the lion. The pig listened to his father. As soon as the lion came to him， he couldnt stand the stench and ran away. Since then， pigs always keep themselves dirty so that no animal might come near them.

在一个晴朗的日子里，一头脏猪正在池子里泡澡。一只口渴的狮子过来喝水，但因无法忍受浓重的臭味而离开了。这头愚蠢的猪以为狮子看到它就害怕。“要不明天再来喝吧。”狮子说着，转身远离了那头脏兮兮的猪。这头猪回家后，告诉父亲它遇到了一只胆小的狮子。“你做了什么，蠢猪？不是因为你，而是你的臭味让他逃离的。”父亲说道，那头脏猪的兴奋感立刻消散了。父亲叫它在脏水里洗澡，好让身上更加臭气熏天，然后再去见狮子。猪听从了父亲的话，狮子一靠近它就因无法忍受臭味而跑开了。从那时起，猪总是把自己弄得很脏，以免会有动物来靠近它们。

Two Fishermen两个渔夫

Two men went fishing. One was an experienced7 fisherman， the other wasnt. Every time the experienced fisherman caught a big fish， he put it in his ice box to keep it fresh8. Whenever the inexperienced fisherman caught a big fish， he threw9 it back. The experienced fisherman watched this go on all day and finally got tired of seeing the man do it. “Why do you keep throwing back all the big fish you catch？” he asked. The inexperienced fisherman answered， “I only have a small frying pan10.”

兩个人去钓鱼，一个是有经验的渔夫，另一个不是。每次这个有经验的渔夫钓到一条大鱼，他都把鱼放在冰柜里保鲜。那个没有经验的渔夫每次钓到一条大鱼，就把它扔回水里去。有经验的渔夫看了一整天，终于厌烦了这个人的做法。“你为什么总是把捕到的大鱼都扔回去？”他问道。没经验的渔夫回答说：“我只有一个小煎锅。”
