The Other Name of Luck

June 1st is a festival for children, a happy and ordinary day. But for passengers who planned to take Xiamen Airline Flight MF872 to fly from Seoul, Capital of Korean to Xiamen, it was doomed to be an extraordinary day.

Affected by the situation in Los Angles, the flight from LA to Seoul had to be delayed for 12 hours before taking off, which directly led to the abashed situation that the 96 Chinese compatriots who planned to go to Xiamen by Xiamen Airlines via Seoul could not come back to China.

Understanding this situation, Xiamen Airlines coordinated closely with multiple parties and proactively delayed the take-off time of the flight to ensure the 96 compatriots to manage to catch the flight. To ensure that we wouldn’t miss any of them, we waited patiently. And we waited for 7 hours. A delay of 7 hours was long, but it turned desperation into surprise. After all the passengers were on board, warm applause broke out in the cabin, “Thank Xiamen Airlines for waiting for all of us! It was a sweet delay!” The understanding and recognition from the passengers is the best comfort for us. As Wang Changling’s poem goes, “Along the way green mountains will be sharing the same cloud and rain, yet the bright moon shall not deter us from enjoying the same silver light.” Far apart are Xiamen Airlines and overseas compatriots, we are united together with one heart. On our way home, no one is allowed to be left behind!

According to a little overseas student who took chartered plane to go back to China and claimed himself as “Little Luck” during the pandemic, “the well-reasoned arrangements” all along were actually “the deliberate preparation” in advance. We were there with them all the time. The student said that he had thought of all kinds of situations of my coming back to my country or not being able to come back, but he never thought he would have got such luck.

If luck has another name, maybe it is called the temperature of Xiamen Airlines. If our temperature means unchanged original intention and safeguard, then passengers’ temperature means to choose us firmly and trust us. Your temperature and our temperature consists of the temperature of the society, representing surprise, luck, love and hope.

While love and hope makes up the most touching melody in this hot season. Strong as the pandemic is, it only temporarily constrains people’s demand for long-distance travel and it can never control people’s deep desire for connection and networking. Nor can it change our confidence and resolution to “help more people travel all over the world”.

Why do you set out? For Xiamen Airlines people, there is only one answer to this question. That is, we will safeguard each of our passengers every time, every day, every year with our unchanged original intention and perseverance. We set out in the name of love, for the reluctant farewell each time and for each greeting after a long separation.
