I bring fresh showers for the thirsting flowers，

From the seas and the streams;

I bear light shade for the leaves when laid

In their noonday dreams.

From my wings are shaken the dews that waken

The sweet buds every one，

When rocked to rest on their mothers breast，

As she dances about the sun.

I wield the flail of the lashing hail，

And whiten the green plains under，

And then again I dissolve it in rain

And laugh as I pass in thunder.

珀西·比希·雪莱（Percy Bysshe Shelley，1792年8月4日—1822年7月8日），英国著名作家、浪漫主义诗人，被认为是历史上最出色的英语诗人之一。诗人通过第一人称“我”来描述“云”的一连串的动作和形态，使云变得活灵活现。同时，诗人还精妙地运用了拟人、比喻、夸张等修辞手法，赋予了自然界以强大的生命力。
