China Plans to Finish Space Station Construction1 Around 2022 中国 计划在2022年左右 完成空间站的建设

China plans to finish the construction of a space station and put it into operation around 2022， said Zhou Jianping， the chief designer2 of Chinas manned space program， at a forum3 held in south Chinas Guangdong Province.

中国载人航天计划的首席设计师周建平（音）在中国南方广东省举行的一次论坛上说，中国计划完成空间站的建设并在2022年左右投入使用。

The space station is designed to weigh4 100 tonnes and it has three astronauts5， which could be more if needed， according to Zhou.

据周说，该空间站的设计重量为100吨，有三名宇航员，如果需要的话可以增加。

“The main goal of the construction of the space station is to help China independently6 master7 the technology8 for long-term manned flight in near-Earth space， and carry out long-term manned scientific experiments9 in near-Earth space and comprehensive10 development and use of space resources，” said Zhou.

“空間站建设的主要目标是帮助中国独立掌握近地空间长期载人飞行技术，并开展近地空间长期载人科学实验以及综合开发利用空间资源。”周说。

The space station will be built as Chinas main platform11 for space science research to master the technologies in constructing and operating large space facilities12. The technologies make sure the life and health of astronauts who often fly in orbit13， and the construction of a national space lab.

该空间站将被建设为中国空间科学研究的主要平台，以掌握建造和运营大型空间设施的技术。 这些技术确保了经常在轨道飞行的宇航员的生命和健康，并确保了国家太空实验室的建设。
