Medics who dashed to the epicenter of the novel coronavirus disease （COVID-19） about two months ago have started to say goodbye to Wuhan， the capital city of Hubei Province in central China， starting March 17， as the outbreak has been subdued.

Over 42，000 medical workers from across the country were dispatched to Hubei to fi ght against the epidemic. They worked tirelessly on the frontline despite danger and hardship.

Their work greatly contributed to easing the epidemic situation in the province. On March 16， Hubei reported only one new confi rmed case of the disease. On that day， the leading group of Chinas COVID-19 response announced an orderly withdrawal of the medical staff supporting Hubei.
