Born in 1976, Ms. Zhang Suhui got her Doctors degree at Tsinghua University, and is currently an associate professor and supervisor of postgraduate students at Shanghai University. As a member of Shanghai Artists Association, Ms. Zhang served as a visiting scholar at Northeast University in the U.S. from 2014 to 2015.
In recent years, Ms. Zhang has focused on her research about the mutualistic symbosis among arts, ecology and cities, and relations between public arts and cities. One significant theme of her creations is the concern over ecological problems. Her public art work on global warming, The Mirage, won the First Prize at the Brookline City Contest of Public Arts held by Bloomberg Philanthropies.
張苏卉,1976年出生,清华大学美术学院博士,上海大学副教授、硕士生导师,上海美术家协会会员。2014年9月至2015年9月在美国东北大学做访问学者。近年来,她一直将研究视角放置公共艺术的理论与实践领域,重点研究艺术、生态与城市的共生,公共艺术与城市的关系。获得国家社科基金艺术学项目“生态文明视角下基于生态理念的公共艺术和城市未来发展研究”,出版专著《艺术、生态与城市的共生——基于生态意识的公共艺术在城市化进程中的作用及发展研究》,并且在核心期刊发表多篇学术论文。同时,她还将理论研究与艺术创作紧密结合在一起。
对生态问题的关注与探讨同时也成为她在艺术创作中的一个重要主题。2014年,她提交了一件有关全球气候变暖的公共艺术作品《海市蜃楼》参与美国纽约彭博慈善基金会公共艺术竞赛,这件作品在布鲁克莱恩市选拔赛中获得第一。近年来她还创作了一系列生态主题的油画作品,如《共生》《源》等,探讨人与自然之间和谐共生的关系。
