2018 marked the start of Chinas full completion of the 19th CPC National Congress, the 40th anniversary of Chinas adoption of the policy of reform and opening-up, and a decisive year of the “13th FiveYear” Planning to connect 2017 and usher in 2019. Faced with the complex and volatile industrial development patterns in China and abroad, the textile industry, a pillar industry of Chinas national economy, revolved around the new industrial positioning of“technology, fashion, and green” to keep on deepening the supply-front structural adjustment, accelerate the transformation between new and old energy, maintain a steady and sound operation momentum, and achieve sustainable progress for high-quality development.
In 2018, the textile machinery industry experienced a deeper upgrade with its main business income and export market still remaining a two-digit growth. The large-vision concept of the chemical fiber industry had already been shaped to lead a year-to-year increase in economic benefits. The overall operation quality was on the whole favorable. Via consistent innovation on the basis of market-oriented thinking, the fashion industry intensified its cross-field integration and intelligent manufacturing. The home textile industry responded vigorously to consumption upgrade, and the new retail, new advantage and new pattern have been comprehensively reshaped. The export of the knitting industry was on an upward trend, and the domestic sales played an increasingly significant role. The integration between the knitting industry and fashion design deepened. Major breakthroughs were achieved by processing technologies and equipment of the textile product industry for industrial use, and the functional fiber materials had reached the internationally leading level. The printing and dyeing industry experienced the synchronous development of “technology, fashion and green”, with a significant improvement made to its earning power. The product and export structure of the wool spinning industry was further adjusted and changed, but still maintained a green, sound, and sustainable growth momentum. The filament manufacturing pushed ahead steadily in the reasonable growth section.
To ring out 2018, the 40th anniversary of Chinas adoption of the reform and opening-up policy and to ring in 2019, the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, will be a historical turn of Chinas textile industry. Though the textile industry will still be faced with many uncertainties, opportunities outweigh challenges. Therefore, the whole industry should remain confident for the road ahead, never cease the pace of deepening the supply-front structural reform, strive to realize steady development quantitatively and qualitatively, and make due share of contribution to building of a moderately well-off society in China.
As the Chinese saying goes, “The more you know, the more likely you will act with a determined mind; the more determined you are in your action, the more likely you will gain a deeper understanding”. On this new historical starting point of this new era, we should make new progress. Let us move ahead with an innovative mind, consistently renew the industrial tags of“technology, fashion and green”, and comprehensively initiate a new prospect for high-quality development.
