Review of China's Natural Gas Development in 2018 and Prospects for 2019

Abstract:After blowout growth of natural gas demand in 2017,China's natural gas development in 2018 was robust.This paper reviews and analyzes the technological and economic indexes and the latest policies in each link of China's natural gas industry chain in 2018,and points out the following seven characteristics:(1)there are two major breakthroughs in natural gas exploration,and the natural gas production increases steadily;(2)LNG led the increase of natural gas import,and the volume of natural gas import leapt to the first in the world;(3)the construction of natural gas infrastructure is intense,and the interconnection of pipelines has made great progress;(4)the natural gas demand is not weak in the off-season,and the market supply and demand is steady and orderly in the"tight balance";(6)the natural gas pricing reform again get new progress,and the marketization pricing brings forth new measures;(7)natural gas system reform is orderly processing forward.The conclusion is that China's natural gas will maintain a steady and balanced development trend in 2019.Among them,natural gas production might have got the largest increase for recent years;natural gas imports will continue to grow;the tight situation between natural gas supply and demand might be relieved in a certain extent;natural gas production,supply,storage and marketing system construction will get solid progress;natural gas system and mechanism reform is pushed on orderly.

Prediction of China's Natural Gas Import De⁃mand through Sea Based on Grey Model

Abstract:As one of clean energy,natural gas plays an important role in the sustainable economic development of our country.According to relevant data,China's natural gas consumption exceeded 2 300×108m3in 2017,with an increase of more than 330×108m3,increasing 17%over the same period last year,which broke the history of China's natural gas consumption increment and the balance between supply and demand in the original natural gas market.In order to meet the demand for natural gas,it is necessary to expand offshore natural gas imports.It is of great significance to accurately predict the future import demand of natural gas on the sea for the formulation of energy strategy,the construction of coastal gas storage facilities and the promotion of the plan of coal conversion to gas.In order to predict China's natural gas import demand at sea,based on the data of China's natural gas import volume from 2006 to 2017,the prediction models of GM(1,1),twice fitting GM(1,1)and GVM(1,1)was established,and their accuracy was tested.The test results show that,the prediction models has good prediction accuracy,and can well adapt to the nonlinear growth model of China's natural gas import data on the sea.The GM(1,1)and twice fitting GM(1,1)models are used to forecast China's natural gas import demand from 2018 to 2020.The results show that the amount of offshore natural gas import will reach 580×108m3at the end of 2018 and 700×108m3at the end of 2019.By the end of 2020,it will exceed 840×108m3,with an average annual growth rate of more than 21%.The conclusion is that the diversification of natural gas import channels can effectively ensure the safety of natural gas supply.The increasing demand for natural gas imports on the sea during this period will put forward higher requirements for the planning and layout of the facilities for receiving and storing gas along the coast of China.

Technical Countermeasure of Dynamic Monitor⁃ing Extra-deep,High-pressure Gas Reservoirs:An Example from Xixia Formation,SY Structure

Abstract:For the sake of submitting proved reserves of Xixia gas reservoirs in SY structure and drawing up a development scheme as early as possible,the whole connectivity,reservoir type,deliverability monitoring methods and technologies were analyzed and summarized.Monitoring downhole temperature and pressure in extra-deep gas wells seems impossible.It's so important to check deliverability due to unstable production adjustment.So far,the whole connectivity of gas reservoirs has not been figured out.And the reservoir type is also unclear because of water partly being produced from these reservoirs.Results show that(1)to adopt a calculation model via wellbore parameters and some monitoring technologies with low risk for underground shallow is conducive to not only conducting dynamic monitor in the later stage but also cutting down operation cost;(2)through a technology of wellhead variable flow rate,the production adjustment at wellhead may maintain stable,and actual deliverability is clear too;(3)via in-band and inter-band interference well testing and gas tracer monitoring,the connectivity can be definite;and(4)a model to monitor water invasion is established through Stiff chart.It is deemed,since Xixia gas reservoirs in SY structure are characterized by complex geological conditions,appropriate monitoring technologies may be adopted to develop them very scientifically and reasonably,promote development process,and submit proved reserves.

Fracturing Damage and Flowback Control in Tight Condensate Gas Reservoirs

Abstract:For several condensate gas reservoirs,Sichuan Basin,their tested yield seems impossible to come up to geological expectation.For the purpose of increasing fracturing effect,on the basis of evaluation on reservoir damage and damage mechanism of condensate oil,we analyzed the main causes on lower flowback rate and deliverability in A well,L gas reservoirs,and developed one technology of flowback with pressure control for condensate gas reservoirs with low permeability.Results show that(1)for these reservoirs,there are two damages individually from water lock and condensate oil.Attempt to avoid the condensate-oil damage to permeability achieving over 90%;(2)through the technology of flowback with pressure control,fluid may be drained under critical sand flow rate when bottomhole pressure is higher than dowpoint pressure whereas flowback rate may be controlled to ensure bottomhole pressure larger than dewpoint pressure when bottomhole pressure is close to dewpoint pressure;and(3)based on one calculation model of critical sand flow rate and another model of nozzle pressure-drop loss,a kind of software was developed to be applied to many pressure-control flowback domains in condensate gas reservoirs.This achievement has been used in a pilot test in B well of L reservoirs.Test results demonstrate that after fracturing,compared with adjoining wells,its flowback ratio increases by 157%,53%for openflow,respectively,indicating an obvious stimulation effect.Moreover,this achievement is significant for effective producing immovable reserves in condensate gas reservoirs with low permeability.

Main Factor Affecting Safety and Environmen⁃tal Protection During Sour Gasfield Develop⁃ment and Countermeasures

Abstract:In China,numerous sour gasfields with high temperature,pressure,and yield are often discovered in marine carbonate-rock formations.However,during field development,there are a lot of difficulties especially in safety and environmental protection due to H2S-bearing feature.So,based on the exploration and development of high sour gasfields in northeastern Sichuan Basin,we analyzed main threat to the safety and environ-mental protection,furthermore discussed some aspects of pipeline corrosion,geological hazard,dangerous goods and waste disposal,and artifacts.Finally many countermeasures were made,including(1)molecular sieve dewatering devices should be equipped with to minimize the cracking of both electrochemical etching produced by H2S mixing with water and H2S corrosion;(2)a station should be selected away from some areas with frequent geological hazards whereas built along contours or around certain districts with convenient transportation.Meanwhile,an emergency plan and emergency supplies should be made and prepared;(3)for sulfur deposits,waste desulfurizer,and gasfield water,these dangerous goods and waste disposal should be done well to minimize environmental risk;and(4)staff training should be conducted in order to raise the awareness and skill,and any operation should be strictly compliant with the standard,procedure,and system so as to root unsafe human behavior.

Horizontal-wellCementing Technology for Tight Gas:An Example from Development of Upper Paleozoic Gas Reservoirs,Eastern Yan'an Gasfield

Abstract:Eastern Yan'an gasfield is rich in tight-gas resources.After some experiments on horizontal-well multistage network fracturing,we posed new challenge to cementing.Furthermore,based on formation feature and drilling data,some difficulties in the process of horizontal-well cementing were analyzed,and a series of key technologies were summed up,containing floating casing optimization,fly ash slurry cement with low density,slurry cement with higher strength and lower elasticity,and downhole shutin security.Results show that(1)during running floating casing,the optimal floating length and the frictional coefficient may be fixed;(2)a kind of 1.40g/cm3 slurry cement with superior performance may be produced from cheaper fly ash;(3)in horizontal interval,one slurry cement under no need to lower strength even only lower elasticity,may meet stage cementing demand.It is found that the application of these key technologies obtained better effect of both cementing-quality increase and obvious sealing capability.(1)That developed slurry cement with superior performance of cheaper fly ash and low density along with lower elasticity and high density,may meet the demand on tight-gas horizontal-well cementing;(2)Those developed cementing facility accessories and floating optimizing approaches may deal with cementing difficulties;(3)in order to perfect cementing quality in tight gas,eastern Yan'an gasfield,we should further conduct more research on cheaper slurry cement with lower density,casing central degree increase,centralizer with low friction resistance,and optimizing slurry system to promote displacement efficiency.

Technology of Thermal Insulation Tubing for Water-producing Gas Wells

Abstract:Under high pressure and low temperature,most water-producing gas wells very easily generate hydrate to block up wellbore or pipelines.The common-used way of plugging removal is methanol injection.However,there are also some problems of methanol toxicity,complicated waste water treatment,and higher operation cost.Research shows that(1)taking the place of single and simple tubing,an innovative downhole thermal insulation tubing,as production string,has been developed to increase temperature of fluid at wellbore,to avoid wellbore plugging,and to cut down cost to some extent;(2)the deeper the tubing has down depth,the better wellbore thermal insulation is and the smaller thermal conductivity coefficient is,the better wellbore thermal insulation is,one effect of down depth on wellbore temperature is much larger than another one on thermal conductivity coefficient.It is deemed that,after its application to Y well,Dongsheng gasfield,the temperature of wellbore fluid obtained an obvious increase,rising to 30℃to effectively prevent from hydrate generation and to meet the demand of better field development,all providing a new tool for water-producing gas wells.

Cementing Technology Anti Extra-high Tem⁃perature in Songke 2 Well

Abstract:Some high-temperature and dry rock mass was found in drilling Songke 2 well with the total depth of 7018 m and the bottomhole temperature of 241℃.After an application of cementing technology in this well,it is found that there are many problems,such as hard compatibility of slurry admixture,strength decay of cement paste,small annular clearance,complex operation process,and poorer cementing quality.So,we carried out one test of slurry performance,studied many cementing technologies,and high-temperature resistant fluid-loss additive and retarder,analyzed high-temperature resistant decay mechanism of cement paste,optimized additive agent and admixture suitable for extra-high temperature,and set up one system of extra-high temperature cement slurry.Results show this system may meet the cementing demand under extra-high temperature,especially under 241℃and 102 MPa,various performance keeps stable or in good order,for example,adjustable thickening time,better rheology,lower filtration,stronger anti-gas channeling,better high-temperature resistance,higher compressive strength,lower permeability and elastic modulus,and stronger toughness.In addition,results show that(1)the flushing spacer fluid with high temperature resistance,the cementing tool accessories with high temperature tolerance,and the centralizer may be used to increase the displacement efficiency of construction slurry,ensure the operation safe,and guarantee the cement sheath bonding quality;(2)the pass cementing quality and the perfection rate are set at 100%after Ф127 mm liner cementing with extra-high temperature applying to Songke 2 well.

Reason Why Pressure Increase Occurs in Plugged Wells of Underground Gas Storages and Countermeasures

Abstract:For one underground gas storage rebuilt from depleted oil and gas reservoirs,pressure increase in plugged wells is a common security issue.Scientifically and reasonably dealing with this pressure increase may ensure operation security and protect people's lives and property.Taking Sinopec Wen 96 and Wen 23 underground gas storages as examples,we found pressure increase all happening in plugged wells.So,an intensive study on its reason was conducted according to reservoir geology,previous production history,and dynamic monitor.And some countermeasures were made.Results show that(1)pressure increase may be caused by either oil production and water injection or anti-corrosion slurry degassing from adjacent wells;(2)since for one plugging agent,its performance may directly influence plugging effect,production and injection activities should be taken into consideration when agent design;(3)in view of one pressure increase caused by degassing,daily management should be based on regular inspection,whereas the management system of regular inspection,inspection increasing in special time,and strict pressure release at wellhead for another increase caused by oil production and water injection;and(4)in the light of Wen 23 storage under construction,risk evaluation on whatever operation around plugged wells should be intensified in order to ensure these wells under safe and controllable situation.

Analysis of SPRT Leak Detection and Location Technology for Oil and Gas Pipeline

Abstract:With the rapid development of oil and gas pipeline network,pipeline leak detection technology is becoming more and more important.In order to solve some problems existing in the oil and gas pipeline leakage detection technology,it is necessary to study multiple natural gas leakage detection technology to ensure the smooth transportation and safe supply of natural gas,pipe network optimization and so on.A new detection method independent of pipeline model,Sequential probability ratio(SPRT)leak detection and location technique,is summarized and analyzed by consulting relevant literature.The mathematical model of gas pipeline leakage detection based on SPRT theory is established by mathematical description of SPRT theory,and the method of solving the model is introduced.Based on the comparison and analysis of the theory and application of SPRT leak detection and location technology,an improved time-difference location method and a multi-sequential probability ratio test method are proposed.The conclusions are as follows:(1)the multiple sequential probability ratio detection can be used to detect leakage in different degrees in theory,and the detection speed is faster and the accuracy is high;(2)the improved timedifference localization method can effectively reduce the delay effect,have high positioning accuracy,be practical,and can be used for leak location based on the principle of negative pressure wave detection,thus reducing the false alarm rate and false alarm rate.

Delphi-based Analysis on Some Factors Influ⁃encing Leakage Diffusion of Storage Tanks

Abstract:Leakage diffusion very easily occur in gas storage tanks,bringing about not only environmental damage but also heavy casualties and property losses.It's important to find out its reasons and to take corresponding preventive actions.So,based on analysis on accidents and cases,the main factors influencing leakage diffusion were figured out.And then,expert weight was determined and advisory table was listed to implement a two-run marking via adopting Delphi-based analysis hierarchy process.It is found that the main factors contain tank pressure,wind speed,leakage rate,leakage speed,leakage radius,leakage concentration,and wind direction.In addition,preventive actions include,(1)to adopt RBI-based technology to optimize overhaul scheme,(2)to utilize safe instrument system with higher reliability for tanks,and(3)tanks being placed at the upper hand of the lowest wind direction,meanwhile equipped with those facilities with better ventilation,diffusion,and dilution conditions.

Design and Application of Fuzzy Incremental PI Controller Based on Curve Tracking Method

Abstract:With the development of natural gas pipeline network,the control mode of gas transmission stations has gradually changed from the traditional manual duty to the intelligent mode of centralized monitoring and control.In the process of the station yard unmanned system in the natural gas network in Zhejiang Province studied and constructed,an effective branch redundancy and system regulation control method is developed and designed.The goal of redundancy and undisturbed switching of the main and standby branches in the pressure regulating loop could be achieved,and when the user load changes dramatically,especially under the condition of the limit pipe capacity set by the upstream and downstream two-stage regulators in the station yard,the stability and anti-coupling requirements of the system regulation are met.The application results in five natural gas transmission stations show that(1)in the process of pressure regulation,compared with the traditional PID control,the control algorithm has a significant improvement in both the quick response of the system and the overshoot control,and it has wide adaptability under the support of appropriate parameters;(2)in the aspect of branch redundancy switching,combined with branch load capacity and regulation control algorithm,the functional requirements of hot standby redundancy and undisturbed switching are achieved;(3)in the aspect of anti-coupling ability,the control speed is changed according to the characteristics of the equipment and the control trend,so as to optimize the adjustment process and force the system to converge,thus realizing the purpose of decoupling;(4)in practical application,the system fully meets the requirements of centralized monitoring and control of unattended stations,runs stably and reliably,and improves the safety,stability and gas supply quality of natural gas transmission and distribution.

Gas-cloud Imaging Cameras to Monitor Gas Leakage

Abstract:Building up one system to accurately and effectively monitor this leakage in time is a big way to increase an event reaction ability.Gas-cloud imaging cameras,with obvious advantages over high efficiency,great distance,wide area,and immediacy and motion,have been used as one part of important technologies to monitor gas leakage.Our study deems that,(1)different from one gas-cloud imaging camera based on heat source imaging commonly used in industry,another camera based on spectral imaging is superior to the former on key indexes,such as gas identification,monitoring scope,and identification accuracy to withstand extreme weather;(2)some suggestions are made,including for stations,the camera should be set up in other regions,for example,guard-free wellsite or wellhead;(3)for pipelines,the camera should be placed at some areas of river running through,important valve room,and highest-risk landform;(4)and under the extreme weather or one situation with coexisting various gas,the spectral-imaging-based gas-cloud imaging camera should be taken as the first choice.

Research and Practice on Peak-shaving and Quality-adjusting of Guangdong Gas Transmis⁃sion Pipeline

Abstract:In order to solve the increasingly peak-shaving and quality-adjusting problem of Guangdong gas transmission pipeline under the condition of continuous development of downstream users,optimize pipeline scheduling and operation,and solve the bottleneck of gas transmission capacity,the simulation calculation method using the pipeline transient simulation software is adopted.Under multi-gas source and multi-user condition,combined hydraulic calculation was carried out for a variety of peak-shaving and quality-adjusting.Different user's load schemes were worked out according to the different influence of their gas using ways on pipeline peakshaving ability.The specific methods are as follows:the static calculation method is firstly used to analyze the maximum transmission capacity of the pipeline under certain pressure conditions,and the working conditions in which the gas consumption exceeds the maximum transmission capacity are excluded.Then in the remaining possible working condition combination,the user structure which can give full play to the peak-shaving ability of pipeline is selected through dynamic peak-shaving calculation and verification.The general conclusion is formed to arrange the production plan.The results show that:(1)more data points obtained by hydraulic calculation can form"dispatching sector"that directs the operation management of actual production scheduling;(2)based on the analysis of calculation results,the scientific management system of pipeline production scheduling is designated,which include establishing early warning mechanism in upstream and downstream,production and operation management system which combines resources,market and pipe network,and regional production scheduling center,and releasing implementation methods and plans etc.Pipeline emergency decision support level is improved.

Analysis on Marginal Reform in the Franchise System of City Gas

Abstract:Since the implementation of the city pipeline gas franchise system,the construction of natural gas terminal markets and the growth of gas consumption have been promoted,but the characteristics monopoly purchasing and marketing the city pipeline gas cannot serve as the reform and development thinking of opening up the terminal competition in the country,becoming the policy obstacle that the city gas market changes from the effect to the efficiency reform.Research shows that(1)at present,the problems of gas price deficit are alleviated to a certain extent,the gas reform of pipeline infrastructure and diversified gas resource is basically in place,the local government is more inclined to support competition of city gas markets,and the environment of franchise reform is further mature;(2)affected by franchise agreement and vested interests,it is more appropriate to carry out marginal reform of franchise system.(3)suggestions including directly gas supply through a urban pipeline network to promote the market competition in present large-user,cooperate to build branch gas pipelines,which promoting the development of new customers by gas suppliers and city gas enterprises,and centralized heating,distributed energy system and other gas using projects are competitively transferred to support new gas terminal project cooperation are put forward.

Innovation and Experiences from Efficient De⁃velopment of LongwangmiaoGas Reservoirs,Anyue Gasfield

Abstract:In Moxi block,Anyue gasfield,Sichuan Basin,most Longwangmiao gas reservoirs face many challenges,such as,no experiences learned from exploiting similar ones at home and abroad,low porosity,and strong heterogeneity,stress sensitivity,and formation-water invasion.Furthermore,there is much H2S in these reservoirs.So,after a comprehensive study,some management,optimization,and innovative experiences on reservoir development were summed up,and many processes to realize high-quality,efficient,cost-effective development were explored.Results show(1)to conduct flat and professional management by means of optimizing organization structure during reservoir development,(2)to implement an integration of exploration and development via optimizing control mode,(3)to establish a six-nization mode,and to promote surface engineering construction,(4)to adopt advanced technologies,and to go ahead digital field construction,and(5)to optimize process element,and to create a QHSE control mode.It is found that technological innovation is the key to realize efficient development,management innovation is the basis to realize the integration of exploration and development,digital field construction is the effective means for promoting management level,valid cost control is the critical part to realize efficient development,and to keep strict and scientific development process and to establish perfect management system are the important guarantee for a long and stable development.

Design on Technical and Economic Evaluation System and Index of Natural Gas Industry

Abstract:In order to establish a comprehensive technical and economic evaluation system to meet the investment return requirements of each link in the natural gas industrial chain,the technical and economic evaluation system of natural gas industry is established and the corresponding evaluation indexes are designed,in which the whole life cycle and post-evaluation theory are adopted and the input and output of each link in the natural gas industrial chain are taken as the main line.Through the pre-and post-comparison,and the horizontal comparison,the weak sectors in the whole process of the natural gas industry are found out,with which the experiences and lessons are summarized to provide strong support for the investment decision-making.The research results show that:(1)the technical and economic evaluation system of natural gas industry should include:objective evaluation,investment index evaluation,output result evaluation,production management evaluation,comprehensive benefit evaluation;(2)the evaluation indexes include proved gas geological reserves,(2D and 3D)seismics,productivity construction,number of development wells,well drilling footage,newly built productivity,gas transmission pressure,productivity rate,and unit reserves investment etc;(3)through the establishment of the evaluation system and index,the evaluation staff can be guided scientifically and effectively to carry out the technical and economic evaluation work,and further improve the effectiveness of investment management and the level of investment decision-making.

Post-evaluation of the Natural Gas Supply Proj⁃ect in An Industrial Park in Chongqing

Abstract:A comprehensive evaluation method including the first grade index and the second grade index system is established for evaluating the social and economic benefits,the safety,the impact on environment and the sustainability of the natural gas pipeline supply project in an industrial park in Chongqing.The evaluated results show that:(1)in the aspect of economic benefit,even though the actual production management and benefit situation of each year is not as expected due to insufficient actual pipeline transportation,but the overall return rate of investment is high,the payback period is short,and the project is worthy of investment;(2)the environmental protection measures are generally feasible and will not have a lasting and irreversible effect on the ecological environment;(3)the safety and reliability can be guaranteed,and the engineering safety is feasible.(4)construction of the project promotes development of the local economy and the consumption of natural gas,cultivates the new economic growth point and has certain conditions for sustainable development.Through the overall evaluation index,it is verified that the construction of the project has basically reached the expected goal,which is in line with the national industrial policy and the main business development strategy of the construction company.On the basis of evaluation,the experience of the similar project construction and the suggestion of re-construction are summarized.

Abstract:In view of the expansion of the human resources sector in oil and gas enterprises,it is difficult to implement unified management of decentralized departments.It is increasingly important and urgent for oil and gas enterprises to accelerate the design and construction of the operation mode of human resource sharing service center based on Internet technology.Therefore,based on the improvement and innovation of the"three pillars"human resource model of traditional enterprises,this paper puts forward a kind of"internet human resource sharing service center"for the human resource service model of oil and gas enterprises.The results show that:(1)the human resource management mode depended on the Internet opening,sharing,innovation promotes talent,technology optimization and upgrading of the center,with the characteristics of comprehensive service,universality,cost savings;(2)the construction of the model is based on"business process reengineering",the mode idea is to implement cloud service,the key element is to provide data support for the shared service center by using the information flow,and to manage the shared service center in a cooperative manner;(3);in the construction of the model,the Human Resource Sharing Service Center,HR business partners and HR expert feedback system form an internal loop to jointly promote the reception and transmission of information in the internet platform,the allocation of resources and the output of products and services;(4)based on the characteristics of Internet management,the training of professional talents and strengthen the risk prevention of service center should be strengthened so as to ensure the establishment and effective operation of the model.
