Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Cutting Tools Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide”), established in June, 2002, is located in National-level High-tech Industry Development Zone in Zhuzhou, Hunan. Being domestic leading comprehensive cemented carbide cutting tool supplier, Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide has also set up wholly-owned sales subsidiaries in USA and German, integrating production, sales and R&D.

Cutting tools are deemed as “Teeth of Industry”. Products from Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide are widely used in many aspects such as machine tools, auto manufacturing, mould making, aviation industry, national defense and military industry, steel industry and electronics industry. Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide is performing its function in an irreplaceable way. Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide is dedicated to providing customers with NC blades and supporting cutting tools, integral cemented carbide cutting tools and cutting tools system used for high-precision turning, milling, drilling, grooving and cutting off and tapping reaming of various standard and non-standard physical coating, chemical coating, ceramic metal and superhard material and other types of materials. The Company can also provide overall package solutions for machining manufacturing to meet different demands of cutting tools.

As a national innovative enterprise, high and new technology key enterprise of national torch plan, leading unit of NC cutting tool group of National Tool Standardization Technical Committee, Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide has been leading and promoting the development of domestic cemented carbide cutting industry. Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide has been bearing the responsibility for many national key special subjects of science and technology since 2009, with topics covering multiple aspects like aerospace, mould making, auto industry, high speed railway and energy engineering. All these studies have made national key special pegreat achievements with independent intellectual property rights and most of them have realized industrialization.

With the increasing popularity of intelligent manufacturing and “Industry 4.0”, and pushed by the demands of transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry, our aerospace industry are faced with huge challenges. In order to further improve core technology of cutting tools and strengthen the communication between our aerospace manufacturing enterprises and cutting tool enterprises, Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Cutting Tools Co., Ltd. held an application seminar focusing on aerospace cutting tools in Cemented Carbide Industrial Park, where a total of 50 representatives and experts were present including famous experts, academics and elites from aerospace manufacturing sector. This even was aimed to facilitate the transformation and upgrading of aerospace manufacturing enterprises. It covered many aspects like processing technology, cutting tools management and digital solutions and was a platform for discussion of aerospace processing challenges.

The meeting kicked off with a welcoming speech delivered by Mr. Li Ping, General Manager of Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide. Mr. Li told us : Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide has now become a leading cutting tool enterprise in domestic cemented carbide field, and also a competitive player in making technology breakthroughs in cemented carbide cutting tool in the whole world. In recent years, Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide has been taking charge of national key special subjects such as precision process innovation. During the study, Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide has been deepening cutting tool investigation and has successfully developed large quantities of efficient aerospace special cutting tools. This greatly contributed to the improvement of the company’s image in aerospace industry. Faced with New Normal, New Situation and New Pressure, by closely following market demands and adhering to the concept of customer orientation, we continue to produce efficient cutting tools that comprehensively satisfy the demands of aerospace manufacturing.

With the ever-advancing technology and ever-changing international pattern, our aerospace manufacturing has entered into high-density development epoch. Various types of aerospace products are increasingly needed as time goes by, exposing aerospace manufacturing enterprises to the mission of greatly improving capacity, to which the best way is to improve processing efficiency. Mr. Wang Shequan, Vice GM of Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide presented a report named “The Application of Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Cutting Tools in Aerospace Industry”. During his report, he pointed out technological characteristics of aerospace components should be fully considered when talking about development of aerospace field cutting tools. Only after adequate understanding of process demands can we better design specific high-performance cutting tools. Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide has been carrying out research centering on process. We have made more development with reference to cutting tool QC, cutting tool material selection and grinding process on cutting tools so as to continuously improve aerospace cutting tool system.

During the conference, experts gave detailed introduction of processing features and cutting tool application in aerospace manufacturing. Some experts illustrated their practical examples to share achievements in aerospace cutting tool development. With the mutual promotion among workpiece material, cutting tool material and structure and so on, aerospace manufacturing is able to make continuous improvements. We can say that continuous development of cutting tools is a great driving force for aerospace manufacturing. Aerospace products are complicated in their shape and structure, with big volume of removal material and easy-deformed nature of thin wall, so they raise even higher requirement for each aspect such as machining accuracy, quality and processing efficiency.

Experts also specifically shared their views on current situation and development trend of NC machine tool and intelligent manufacturing. At present, NC machine tool is making swift development and it is growing in the direction of going high-speed, going high-precision, going complex, going smart, going networked and going green. Instead of getting totally satisfied with what we have now, our NC industry should seize the opportunities to make continuous improvement, to advance technologies, to further strengthen innovation and talent training, to enhance comprehensive service capability, thus, eventually, narrowing the gap from developed countries. NC machining tool industry is supposed to strive to complete, as soon as possible, the transformation from low-end operation to high-end operation, and from primary product processing to high-grade product manufacturing. In this way, our country could realize the transformation from made-in-China to innovated-in-China, and from big manufacturing country to manufacturing power.
