Mn-Rich Ore Resources In Xinjiang Ranked Top In China

According to the news release from the Department of Land and Resources of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the West Kunlun Maerkansu Mn ore prospecting project financed by the Autonomous Region scored a major breakthrough. Located in the Akto County, Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture of Kizilsu, the ore zone, 65-km long from west to east, consists of three large and medium-scale manganese ore deposits as Aoertuokanashi, Muhu and Maerkansu, with the western boundary in the Tajikistan. In June, Muhu mine zone acquired new manganese ore resource of 7.49 million tons via deep drilling, Maerkansu zone had an accumulated manganese ore resource of over 50 million tons (with mean grade of over 30%), and forecasted prospective resource of over 100 million tons, making it the largest manganese ore resource prospection and exploitation base in Xinjiang. The major prospecting breakthrough in Maerkansu zone has made Mn-rich ore resources in Xinjiang rank top in China with Mn-rich ores distributed in both southwestern and northwestern Xinjiang. Featured by stable ore-bearing horizon, high ore grade, great resources potential and easy concentration, the discovery of the large Mn-rich ore zone will further eliminate the resource bottleneck of lack of Mn-rich ore in China.
