Sanmenxia City plans to vigorously develop aluminum industry and aluminum deep processing industry, actively develop aerospace aluminium products, vehicle and vessel accessories, military sheets and other high-tech products, continuously extend the industry chain, and promote the development of high-end aluminum industry. At present, Sanmenxia City boasts a proven bauxite reserve of over 160 million tons, accounting for nearly 1/3 of national reserve and ranking No.1 in Henan Province, an available reserve of 420 million tons, over 20 bauxite mines discovered, with 11 mines included into the Henan Province mineral reserve list, and designated 40 zones under prospection.

In recent years, CITIC Dicastal, Henan Tongren Aluminum Co., Ltd. and other aluminum product deep processing enterprises have established plants and projects in Sanmenxia City. Specifically, CITIC Dicastal, one of the large-scale aluminum wheel manufacturers in China with high-end equipment, advanced process and extensive portfolio, is building an international tailored aluminum alloy wheel base. Since 2017, Henan Tongren Aluminum has launched the project of 600,000 t/a aluminum alloy casting and deep processing, and the Phase I involves the 300,000 t/a aerospace and automobile aluminum alloy plates, with a total investment of RMB 5.886 billion. As a high-end aluminum deep processing project and a major project approved by Henan Provincial Government, the project mainly manufactures large high-strength, high-toughness and high-corrosion resistant structural parts, medium plates, sheets and strips required by the aerospace, military, rail transit and automobile industries, and has a supporting raw material workshop and an aluminum processing competence center. After the completion, the project is expected to achieve sales revenue of RMB 8 billion and profit of over RMB 900 million.

Next, Sanmenxia City will accelerate the upgrading of the aluminum industry, continuously the extension of industry chain to the terminal and the value chain to the high end, carry out organic combination with the construction of military and civilian integration industry park, adhere to the guidelines of “steady development of aluminium oxide, accelerated development of special aluminium oxide and vigorous development of aluminum deep processing”, meet the requirements of automobile, rail transit, electronic information, food & drug, aerospace and military industries by vigorously developing premium aluminum plate strip and foil, food contact aluminum foil, electronic aluminium foil, vehicle body structural parts, engine parts, wheel and other high-end processed products, promote the high-end development of aluminum industry, strive to incubate aluminum industry cluster featuring rational scale, highlighted special aluminium oxide, competitive deep processing terminal, and ultimately develop Sanmenxia City into a major aluminum industry base in China.
