To stabilize housing prices and meet housing demand, China may introduce measures to promote shared ownership homes. “Shared housing property” refers to the local government transferring portions of land revenues and then selling homes at lower prices to families that qualify. Homeowners would be required to sign a contract in which the local government maintains a portion of property rights, has say in the conditions of future transactions and receives a share when the property is sold. Ownership is shared by the government and the families.endprint
