The other day, I happened to read a meaningful story. It reminds me of a similar experience of my friend. Tom was once bad ill and went to see a doctor. The doctor gave him some pills, telling him to take them three time a day. But, he failed to follow the doctors advice and took it 9 times a day. To his great surprise, he became better. Just as the old saying going,“Haste makes waste.” No matter we do, we should obey with the law of nature. It is the same with our studies. Only in learning step by step can we achieve success.

1. reminds→reminded
4. But→However 习惯用法,在However之后一般会有逗号,而but后则不需要。
5. it→them 上文提到pills,可数名词复数,指代词应该一致,用them。
8. 在matter和we中间加what 此处表达“不管我们做什么”应添加what。
Dear Jack,
How are things going? I cant help telling you my experience.
From July 12th to 20th, I, together with the other 499 students from different high schools in Guangzhou, joined in an activity to work as a volunteer in a nursing home. Our main job is to do housework for the elderly. After that, we chatted freely and happily with them and gave them our prepared show. It was a fantastic day.
Honestly speaking, it was a tiring day and I felt exhausted. But it was worth it. Through this meaningful activity, I learn that giving is much happier than receiving. Old people spent most of their lives contributing to the society. And now, it is our teenagers responsibility to show our respect and do something for them.
What do you think? Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours,
Li Hua
Dear Jack,
How are things going? I cant help telling you my experience.
This morning at 9 oclock, I participated in an English speech contest in the school auditorium. It was my first time to speak in front of so many students and teachers. When I got onto the stage, my mind suddenly went blank. I opened my mouth only to find nothing to say. I took a few deep breaths and tried to focus. Luckily, all the memories came back to me gradually and I finished the show smoothly.
Though I didnt win any prize, I learn that nervousness is nothing to be afraid of. The only thing we can and should do is stay calm and focused, and most importantly, always have confidence in ourselves.
What do you think? Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours,
Li Hua
