China Federation of International Mining Capacity Cooperation Enterprises Established
On September 22, the inaugural meeting of the China Federation of International Mining Capacity Cooperation Enterprises (“Federation”) was held in Tianjin. Vice Minister of Land and Resources Cao Weixing attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Heads of the departments and units directly under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Ministry of Land and Resources also attended the meeting at invitation. The meeting was presided over by Yu Qinghe, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Mining Association.
The meeting deliberated and adopted the Proposal of the China Federation of International Mining Capacity Cooperation Enterprises and the Constitution of the China Federation of International Mining Capacity Cooperation Enterprises and elected the first Board of Directors of the Federation. Peng Qiming, President and Party Committee Secretary of the China Mining Association, was elected chairman of the first Board of Directors.
During the meeting, Han Heping, Supervisor of the China Mining Association, read out the Federation's establishment approval document issued by the NDRC. Vice Minister of Land and Resources Cao Weixing made an important speech. Cao Wenlian, Director of the International Cooperation Center of NDRC, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Wang Jionghui, General Manager Assistant of China Minmetals Corporation, General Manager of Minmetals Exploration & Development Co., Ltd., and Part-time Vice President of the China Mining Association, made a speech on behalf of the Federation. Peng Qiming, the newly-elected Chairman of the Federation, gave a speech.
It's reported that the Federation, initiated by the China Mining Association, is a platform organization that promotes international capacity cooperation of China's mining industry. The Federation is participated by mining enterprises, geological prospecting units and third-party service organizations under the principles of voluntariness, equality and cooperation. The Federation aims at integrating the domestic industry resources, giving play to co-ordination advantage, establishing an all-round international mining capacity cooperation service platform, promoting policy communication, information sharing and industry cooperation, and jointly boosting the sustainable development of China's international mining capacity cooperation among primarily member enterprises in key countries and regions by implementing the Party's and government's policy on the use of foreign and domestic resources and markets and the construction of the Belt and Road based on the national industrial development strategy and the internal development demand of enterprises and under the principle of "coordinated service, honesty, self-regulation and win-win cooperation".
Nearly 200 representatives from relevant departments of the NDRC and the Ministry of Land and Resources, the China Mining Association, the Federation's initiators and member enterprises, industry alliances and industry associations attended the inaugural meeting of the Federation.
