Cambodian Edition of Chinese President's Book Launched

THE CAMBODIAN VERSIONof Chinese President Xi Jinping's book on the governance of China was released on April 11 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital.

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Jiang Jianguo, vice head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, presided over the release ceremony of the book at the prime minister's office, the Peace Palace.

The bookXi Jinping: The Governance of Chinacontains 79 of the Chinese leader's speeches, talks, interviews, notes and letters from the period between November 2012 and June 2014. The book helps readers around the world better understand China's development, domestic and foreign policies and its response to the concerns of the international community.

Cambodia's Secretary of State and spokesman for the Council of Ministers Phay Siphan said the book would provide Cambodians with a deeper understanding of the Chinese leader and his thoughts on political issues and foreign policy.

The translation and publication work of the Cambodian edition of the book was completed in close collaboration between China International Publishing Group and the Confucius Institute of the Royal Academy of Cambodia.

Chea Munyrith, director of the Confucius Institute of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said the 603-page book would offer Cambodian readers a broad opportunity to better understand China.
