Beidou Navigation Satellite：Lighting the B&R

Since the development of B&R is in full swing， how can we promote the internationalization of Beidou on the basis of B&R and take the highland of the gobal spatiotemporal information.

Beidou--- The Star of Navigation

Ancient Chinese began to use and observe the Beidou at a very early time.

Early in the offical book of Historical Records， there writes that "yin and yang， four season， five elements， the shift of season， orientation are decided by the Beidou." Here， Dou means Beidou which is known as the pole star in China and also named navigation star. For thousands of years， basking the shining of Beidou， people are endlessly and constantly going forward.

Today， in the sky of eastern hemisphere， 14 navigation satellites in the dark sky are shining， providing precise and reliable navigation， positioning and timing services for the Asia-Pacific region of various types of users， which is China's independent construction--- Beidou satellite navigation system. In accordance with the three-step development strategy of the Beidou system， based on the regional system， we are accelerating the further construction of global systme on the basis of the current regional system， therefore we can expect Beidou system to provide services to users all around the world.

Application of Beidou

Here Comes the Beidou Plus

The fundamental purpose of Beidou satellite navigation system is its application. The development of Beidou system can not be separated from the strength of application industry. In the four years when Beidou provide services in Asian-pacific region， the domestic application industry has also made great development， forming a complete industrial chain of Beidou industry. The "Beidou +" concept has become increasingly clear， that Beidou offer services to all walks of life and thousands of households have made great Economic and social benefits.

Typical Application of Beidou

Marine Fishery

Sea navigation depends on helmsman and navigation depends on Beidou.

Marine fishery is one of the industries which started to apply Beidou system at a very early time. Fishermen can use Beidou to contact their famlies and when they meet dangerous situations they can send signals for help according to their positions so as to guarantee their maritime safety. In addition， Beidou can also be used in ship monitoring， intelligent scheduling， closed fishing area alarm， the border police and other comprehensive services.

Animals Protection

The film Moutain Patrol shows us that the survival of the Tibetan antelope. The Tibetan antelope， as a unique species in China， play an important role in maintaining the ecological environment of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Tibetan antelope is now in an endangered state. The number decreased from the first few million to less than 5 million at the last century. However， because the Tibetan antelope habitats in the plateau desert， ice and frozen permafrost， whose height are about 5，000 meters above sea level. The conditions are extremely bad and these areas belong to no man's land， which undoubtedly increased the difficulty of Tibetan antelope protection.

The collar used byBeidou satellite navigation system for the study of Tibetan antelope ， weighing less than 1 catty， and the parts can tolerate high temperature and coldness and it is also water-proof. The collar can send back informantion 10 times everyday in the migration period 4 times in non-migration， including the time and location of Tibetan antelope Time， positioning accuracy from the original a few meters to a few meters accurate distance.

Care for the Old and Children

Beidou navigation is applied in the care for the elderly and children. It can be cards， can be shoes， can be a watch， and the most important thing is love. In the elderly and children care services， we can track and loacte the elderly and children through the Beidou system， which help parents to find the elderly and children at any time. In addition， it has more additional functions such as respond to emergencies， family calls and others which further ensure the safety of the elderly and children， reducing the burden of their loved ones.

Transportation and Logistics

When the vehicle install the Beidou navigation system， the station's control platform will have a real-time control of all vehicles running speed and location so as to easily plan the operation of scheduling vehicles. At the same time， dangerous sections， speed limit information， stop reminders and other tips will accompany the driver during his or her driving. High-tech means significantly reduce the occurrence of traffic accidents， and protect the driver's life and property.

In fact， the application of the Beidou is far more than what mentioned above， in the satellite navigation industry， there is a famous saying goes like that the application of satellite navigation system is only limited by the imagination of the people.

Beidou and B&R

Beidou navigation system has come to the present， has gone through 30 years of ups and downs from the beginning of its construction.

Now Beidou system has been initially completed and now it provides a stable service， begin to walk towards the world and will usher in a new upsurge of the application of the Beidou system. Based on the GPS whose construction and application are 20 years in advance than Beidou system and the 20-year-gap is hard to overcome at once. GPS has formed a stable product chain， so how can Beidou system develop its application since the manufacturers， merchants and users has long been accustomed to the GPS system？ Especially for the industrial applications in the world， which is a problem placed in front of the application of Beidou system. B&R application will be touchstone for Beidou to see wether it is suitable for global service.

From the economic level， the countries alongside the B&R are likely to confined by the naitional power so that there is no way to build their own satellite navigation and positioning system. Therefore， the construction of space-time information network will inevitably need to use other countries satellite navigation and positioning system. China will include "steadily advance the Beidou system to go out" in the B&R strategic planning， which provide unprecedented opportunity and platform for the internationalization of Beidou system.

According to the preliminary estimatation， total population along the B&R is about 4.4 billion and the total economic output is about 21 trillion US dollars. Currently， Beidou system has now covered nearly 30 countries and a population of nearly 2.7 billion alongside the B&R.

Beidou on the Sea

Beidou system are different from the world's other satellite navigation systems， because at the beginning of construction， it focused on the construction a satellite navigation and positioning system of a simple communication function of. The unique short message function of BeiDou system allows users to know where they are and at the same time pass their own information to others， passing each other's care and sharing each other's information. This solution which integrates navigation and communication provides cheap and reliable services for navigating and communicating marine vessels.

Let us imagine that when fishermen encounter danger situations， if the fisherman is using GPS navigation and positioning receiver， then they can only get their own location information which will not help himself to survive successfully. However， Beidou system can immediately send assistance information to the police or family and friends， so as to realize successful rescue.

In the South China Sea， tens of thousands of fishing boats have been installed with the Beidou satellite navigation system and opened the Beidou terminal and SMS exchange services. The amount of information per month is up to one million， which outlines a safety line between the sky and the sea and shelters the maritime security.

B&R initiatives influences the Western Pacific， the South Pacific， the Northern Indian Ocean， the Mediterranean，the East Atlantic and so on. The BeiDou system is able to provide customized ocean shipping， cross-border transportation， fishery management， port clearance and other popular and personalized services according to different needs so as to promote the economic development of the countries around.

Beidou on the Land

Ground-based augmentation system is to set up a satellite navigation monitoring station on the ground， and to obtain the measurement error through the monitoring of satellite signals so as to get accurate error correction information， and then send error correction information to the user， thereby reducing users error and improving users positioning Precision.

That is to say， its fine to make errors because I can tell you how to correct.

Since errors are regional in nature， which means that errors are related to the environment. If the data measured by the Chinese stations are corrected in other countries， there may be no way to correct the error correctly. Therefore， to improve the measurement accuracy， we need to construct the Beidou station in each country to ensure full coverage of the error correction.

At present， Beidou system are building the foundation base in the relevant countries to strengthen the network and focusing on providing high-precision system based on the Beidou service system.

Beidou in the World

China has conducted cooperative meeting with Thailan， Indonesia， Malysia and Singapore one by one and signed the cooperation memorandums with Thailand in the field of satellite navigation. Also， China actively promotes the cooperation of Beidou system under the framework of Joint Commision on Space Cooperation between China and Indonesia and China and Malysia.

In terms of business cooperation， since 2013 Beidou system has attended China-ASEAN Expo for three consecutive years and held Beidou thematic exhibition， theme forums and business matchmaking and other activities.

In terms of overseas exchanges， Beidou system has been to Thailand， Indonesia， Singapore and other countries to hold seminars， exhibitions， interactive experience and other activities， winning recognition and praise from the ASEAN users.

At the same time， national relevant departments actively implement the Beidou demonstration and application， including Myanmars agriculture， forestry and land planning， the Mekong River Basin ship monitoring and management， Laos fine agriculture and pest monitoring management， Brunei wisdom tourism and intelligent city management， Indonesian maritime integrated application projects.
