Recently， after the release of EIA publicity， the ongoing to-be-started Poyang Lake water conservancy project has been pushed on the cusp.

In the past ten years， Poyang Lake has been exposed to advanced dry season， proloned dry seasonand low water level. The water resources， water ecology and water environment carrying capacity are seriously lacking in the dry season， which has caused serious damage to the people's livelihood， ecology and economy. In 2002， Jiangxi Province for the first time in the national "two sessions" proposed the construction of Poyang Lake water conservancy project， to solve the problem of its continuous prolonged dry season. However， since the project was put forward， the ecological problem has been questioned and concerned by the outside world.

In view of this problem， the experts suggested that at the same time， the engineering measures should be combined with the management， as soon as possible the implementation of a comprehensive ban on fishing， and resolutely cut off the autumn lake， electric arrest， ecstasy and other illegal fishing operations， help fishermen convert jobs. The Ministry of Agriculture is considering to implement a comprehensive ban of fishing on the Yangtze River in 2020.
