To Pull Up Seedlings To Help Them Grow

1.Once upon a time,an old farmerplanted a field of rice.Everyday he went to the field to watch the seedlings grow.But he thought they were growing too slowly.“How could the plants grow faster?” Sud⁃denly he got an idea.To help them grow faster,he pulled up all the seedlings.

从前，有一个农夫种了一片禾苗地。他总是嫌田里的庄稼长得慢，今天去瞧瞧，明天去看看，觉得禾苗总没有长高。他心想：有什么办法能使它们长得快些呢？突然他想到了一个主意。他把禾苗一棵一棵地往上拔，能快速让它们长高。

2.After work,the old farmer went back home hap⁃pily.“ I am exhausted（ 精疲力竭）today.I tried my best to help the crops grow taller!”he said to his fami⁃ly.

他拔完一整片禾苗，高兴地回了家。回到家里还夸口说：“今天可把我累坏了，我帮助禾苗长高了好多！”

3.His son was shocked and rushed to the field.

他的儿子一惊，赶忙跑到田里去看。

4.All the crops were dead.

发现田里的禾苗全部已经枯死了。
