Everyone likes birthday.Because you can get gifts from your parents.Thirteen years passed.I never receive a gift from my parents.My parents work in Dongguan city.They come back home once a year.When Spring Festival is coming，they are coming back.Last year，they came back with a new coat.That was my gift for last birthday.

“Happy birthday！I know it is too late for you.”

“Wow，it is so beautiful，but today is not my birthday.”

“I'm sorry，Xinyi.We are too far from you and we can bring a gift for you only on Spring Festival.”

I was still happy.Better late than never.Dad and Mum said they would send me a gift by post.This year I will receive a gift on my birthday.I am waiting and waiting.I hope May 12th is coming soon.

“Hi，Xinyi！You have a parcel1from Dongguan city，”a man was calling me loudly.He's our headmaster.I was having P.E.class at that moment on playground.I ran to his office quickly.I couldn't wait to open the box.Wow，it is a new mobile phone！

“Isn't it my birthday gift？It's so expensive，”I asked the headmaster in a surprise.

“Your parents send you a cellphone for connecting when it is necessary.Will you play games with it？”Our headmaster is strict with us.He doesn't allow us to play games in class.“Xinyi，I hope you make a promise.This phone is only for connecting，not for playing.”I promised，“Yes，sir.I won't play games in class.”

Then I found a note in the box:Dear Xinyi，this mobile phone is for connecting.Don't play it in class.When you come across the words you don't know，it can help you.It will be your good teacher and friend.Yours，with love，daddy and mummy.

生日礼物

每个人都喜欢过生日。因为你们都可以收到父母的礼物。十三年过去了，我从来没有收到过父母给我的生日礼物。我的父母在东莞市上班。他们一年才回老家一次。春节到了，他们就赶回家。去年，他们回家给我带了一件新外套。那是补给我的生日礼物。

“生日快乐！我知道对你而言这份礼物来得晚了些。”

“哇塞，好漂亮啊，可是今天不是我的生日。”

“很抱歉，欣怡。我们离家远，只能到春节时给你带礼物。”

我还是很高兴。来得迟总比没有要好。爸爸妈妈说他们会通过邮局给我寄礼物。今年我可以收到生日礼物了。我等啊等啊，希望5月12号早点到来。

“喂，欣怡！你有一个包裹，东莞来的。”有一个人在大声叫我。他是我们的校长。那时我正在操场上体育课。我很快跑向校长办公室，迫不及待打开盒子。哇塞，一部新手机！

“不是我的礼物吧？这么贵重的礼物！”我惊讶地问校长。

“你父母送你手机，必要时联络用的。你会用它玩游戏吗？”校长对我们要求严格。他不允许我们上课玩手机。“欣怡，我希望你做个承诺。这部手机只用来联络，不是用来玩游戏的。”我承诺道：“好的，校长。我上课绝不玩游戏。”

后来，我在盒子里发现一张纸条，上面写着：亲爱的欣怡，这部手机供你联络用。上课别玩手机。当你遇到不懂的单词，它能帮助你。它会成为你的良师益友。爱你的爸爸和妈妈。
