“As a responsible developing country, China always aligns itself with the common interests of all humanity and proactively promotes international cooperation in building an equitable global climate governance regime that is beneficial to all. Together with other parties, China will promote the global transition to a green, low-carbon economy and an innovative development path … China will make international commitments that match its national circumstances, current development stage, and actual capabilities, by enhancing mitigation and adaptation and strengthening South-South cooperation on climate change. China will establish the Fund for South-South Cooperation on Climate Change to provide assistance and support, within its means, to other developing countries, including small developing island nations, the least developed countries, and African countries, in their addressing of climate change.”
Chinese Ambassador Zhang Ping to Fiji made this statement in his article entitled “Addressing Climate Change: China on the Move” published in the November 2015 issue of Pacific People magazine.
“During the more than 45 years since their establishment of full diplomatic ties, China and Italy have displayed mutual political respect and treated each other as equals. Through joint efforts we have founded and deepened our comprehensive strategic partnership, and maintained close communication and coordination under multilateral frameworks such as the UN, G20, and ASEM… Bilateral trade is approaching US $50 billion. China’s e-commerce platforms now host Italian brands, so opening an Italian Pavilion in virtual space. The two countries’ cooperation on finance and investment is also progressing swiftly. More than 100 Chinese businesses have invested in Italy, and all major Chinese commercial banks have opened offices in the country. Italy is also a founding member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Meanwhile, the two countries have conducted fruitful cooperation in hi-tech fields including sustainable development, environmental protection, and aerospace.”
Chinese Ambassador Li Ruiyu to Italy made these remarks in his speech at the celebration on November 26, 2015 of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
