EDITOR'S NOTE

China and ASEAN countries are close neighbors that share afnitive culture and blood ties. Since the establishment of a dialogue partnership in the 1990s，their relations have realized a historic leap from a comprehensive dialogue partnership to a strategic partnership with broad common interest. Since October 2003， China and ASEAN countries have made joint eforts to create a “Golden Decade”， during which their cooperation in trade， economy， investment and tourism， etc. became close and pragmatic at an increasingly high level. They took the lead in building the largest free trade area of developing countries in the world. China has become ASEAN's largest trading partner， while ASEAN ranks third the other way round.

Since 2015， the “Golden Decade” has advanced to the “Diamond Decade”，a new period of opportunities. In the course of building up the Belt and Road，China and ASEAN will work together to build a more closely united community to create positive energy for regional and world prosperity and stability.

With the support of China International Publishing Group（CIPG）， ASEANChina Center， Tai-Chinese Friendship Association and other institutions， China Report is ofcially publishing China Report ASEAN， China's frst national-level English monthly magazine dedicated to communicating the economic and trade relations， friendly exchanges between China and ASEAN. Te publication is expected to help strengthen communication between China and ASEAN countries and help promote the exchanges and cooperation in economy， trade， culture， etc.，playing the part of a historical recorder of progress in the shaping of the China-ASEAN Community of Common Destiny.
