Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with foreign experts who won the Chinese government's Friendship Award 2015 on September 30.
Li expressed warm congratulations to the award-winning foreign experts,and extended sincere greetings and heartfelt gratitude to all foreign experts working in China,international friends who support China's modernization drive,and their families.
He said that the Friendship Award not only manifests the friendship between people of China and other countries,but also bears the important responsibility of maintaining world peace and promoting common development. At present,China is implementing the innovation-driven development strategy,advocating mass entrepreneurship and innovation to achieve development with higher quality,better structure and greater sustainability. Foreign talents are welcomed to innovate in China,start ventures for the sake of development,and carry out various forms of cooperation.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting at the UN headquarters in New York on September 29.
Wang said that BRICS countries should enhance coordination and speak with the same voice on international political and security issues. We should continue dedicating ourselves to peaceful settlement of international and regional disputes,and build a new-type international relations with win-win cooperation at the core. BRICS countries should deepen cooperation and constantly tap potential for economic growth. We should enhance coordination in macroeconomic policy-making to jointly promote structural reforms and support innovation,transformation,and upgrading; continuously advance the reform of global economic governance; and improve international financial and currency systems.
He also pointed out that BRICS countries should build bridges and play a unique role in development issues and together carry out the implementation.
Moreover,BRICS countries should cement foundations and steadfastly advance practical cooperation in all sectors and push for an early operation of flagship projects; advance practical cooperation in all areas; enhance people-to-people communication; and strengthen exchange on governance and administration of state affairs.
All parties also exchanged views on the Syrian issue,the situations in Iraq and Ukraine,global economic and financial institution reform,the post-2015 development agenda,climate change,international counter-terrorism cooperation,and the UN reform.
Documents of the Nanjing Massacre are inscribed on the Memory of the World Register by the International Advisory Committee of UNESCO's Memory of the World Program,announced UNESCO on October 9.
The documents comprise three parts: the first concerns the massacre (1937-1938);the second part is related to post-war investigations and trials of war criminals documented by the Chinese National Government's Military Tribunal (1945-1947); and the third part involves files documented by the judiciary authorities of the People's Republic of China (1952-1956).
On December 13,1937 when Japanese invaders occupied Nanjing,they began a six-week rampage of pillage and slaughter in the city. Over 300,000 Chinese,including defenseless civilians and unarmed soldiers,were killed.
According to UNESCO's Director-General Irina Bokova,the Memory of the World Program should be guided in its work to preserve documentary heritage and memory for the benefit of present and future generations in the spirit of international cooperation and mutual understanding,building peace in the minds of women and men.
On October 3,Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang respectively exchanged congratulatory messages with Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Xi Jinping said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 25 years ago,both countries have been deepening their relations,yielding fruitful results in cooperation in various sectors and maintaining sound communication and cooperation in international and regional affairs.
Tony Tan Keng Yam noted that the friendship between the two peoples is becoming increasingly close. He looks forward to,together with President Xi,further deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation on the basis of solid bilateral relations to better benefit the two peoples.
Li Keqiang said that the two countries have been deepening political mutual trust,steadily advancing the level of economic and trade investment,frequently making new highlights in financial cooperation,and continually yielding new achievements in exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
Lee Hsien Loong noted that the two sides had established a close and mutually beneficial partnership in a wide range of areas that keeps pace with the times. He looks forward to joint efforts with his Chinese counterpart and the Chinese government to promote bilateral relations in the next 25 years.
