Qinghai Newly Adds 1 Million Tonnes of Copper and 2 Million Tonnes of Lead Zinc In the “Twelfth Five Year Plan” period
The reporter recently learned from Qinghai Province Geological Prospecting Bureau that Qinghai’s geological prospecting for the “Twelfth Five Year Plan” period had made significant breakthroughs, and newly submitted 58 orefields.
It has been learned that, during the “Twelfth Five Year Plan” period, Qinghai Province fully brought out the leveraging role of the Provincial Geological Prospecting Fund, actively guided private funds to enter the geological prospecting field, and encouraged all prefectural (regional, municipal) governments to invest in geological prospecting, which received satisfactory results.
Based on the plan targets, Qinghai Province drafted overall target of mineral resource prospecting for the “Twelfth Five Year Plan” period, newly added mineral resource reserve: 100 million tonnes of petroleum, 200 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 500 million tonnes of coal, 100 million tonnes of iron, 1 million tonnes of copper, 2 million tonnes of lead zinc, 200 tonnes of gold, and 100 million tonnes of potassium chloride; by 2015, strive to increase total mineral resource development volume to 150 million tonnes, annual average growth rate of mining and dressing industry will reach 12% above, and the total output value will exceed 50 billion yuan.
According to relevant data, during the “Twelfth Five Year Plan” period, Qinghai Province completed 187,800 sq km of 1:50000 regional geological mineral survey area, which surpassed the 170,000 sq km planned target; it newly discovered 59 prospecting bases, newly submitted 58 orefields, which surpassed the planned target of 80 orefields and prospecting bases; the newly added mineral resource reserves include: 1.7 billion tonnes of coal, 523 million tonnes of iron, 9.3793 million tonnes of copper lead zinc nickel, 331.1 tonnes of gold, and 305 million tonnes of potash.
It has been learned that, excluding copper aluminum zinc which failed to be completed due to ecological preservation requirements, shrinking of work zone scope and impact of external work environment, the remaining planned targets have all been fulfilled or surpassed.
