“Last call for the flight ‘FFFest 2014, all passengers please go to Fashion Terminal D2 for boarding…”The greatest local fashion and cultural festival, Fashion Forward Festival 2014(FFFest 2014) had been kicked-off on 12th December 2014, Hong Kong at the creative landmark, D2 Place at Lai Chi Kwok. The festival was unveiled by Ms. Edith Law, Chairlady of Fashion Farm Foundation (FFF); Mr. J?rgen Halldin, Consul General of Consulate General of Sweden; Mr. Lawrence Leung, chairman of knitwear innovation and design society; Prof. Raymond Au, VTC; Ms. Vanessa Lam, CEO of Crocodile Garment Ltd; Famous fashion designer Renee K and Walter Ma; Mr. Alvin Yip, director of Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation and Ms. Nichol Kong, Project Curator, to celebrate the grand opening of FFFest2014. From 12th December 2014 to 31st January 2015, D2 Place will turn into a ‘Fashion Terminal with concept of ideal world, creating a platform for more than 30 local and international talents to motivate cross-disciplinary collaborations between fashion designers and elites on arts, music and performing arts, which filled with innovations, demonstrating the efforts and endeavours of the designers to witness the success of “Made in Hong Kong”.

Music on, the D2 Place runway was ready. 14 professional models presented 56 outfits of the Spring/Summer 2015 mens and womens collections from the local designer brands of HARRISON WONG, DEMO., Berayah and METHODOLOGY, showing all the guests a gorgeous fashion show.

Ms. Edith Law, Chairlady of Fashion Farm Foundation gave a speech after the fashion show, she said, “We sincerely thanks for all your support towards Fashion Forward Festival! FFF has made efforts to facilitate local creative industry through different communication platform and encouraging collaboration among fashion, lifestyle and cultural industries. In the coming journey, we will uphold our objective and aim at promoting Fashion Forward Festival as an annual fashion & cultural extravaganza, as well as broadening the vision of both industry and public and assisting local designers to step into international stage.”

And a kick-off ceremony was held by Ms. Edith Law and all board members of FFF and partners, including Mr. J?rgen Halldin, Consul General of Consulate General of Sweden; Mr. Lawrence Leung, chairman of knitwear innovation and design society; Prof. Raymond Au, VTC; Ms. Vanessa Lam, CEO of Crocodile Garment Ltd; Famous fashion designer Renee K and Walter Ma; Mr. Alvin Yip, director of Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation and Ms. Nichol Kong, Project Curator, to tear off the dummy boarding pass of “FFFest 2014”, the new page for the fruitful fashion journey was began.

Following the opening ceremony, a stunning Fashion Music Night is performed in the rooftop of D2 Place. Yoyo Sham, a fresh local singer, and Jing Wong, performed a series of pop songs and dressed in the costumes designed by ZO-EE and DEMO., displaying a brand new visual and aural experience.

The end of the ceremony is not just an end. It also represents the beginning of FFFest 2014. Fashion Terminal Exhibition, workshops and Master-class seminars to be followed, making D2 Place now boosts an artistic mood after refurbished last year that turns it a hot destination for young artists for promoting creative industry in Hong Kong.

FFFest 2014 strong lineup ignites dynamism for Fashion Terminal

With a strong lineup this year, FFF-est 2014 features local talents including Derek Chan of DEMO.(menswear), Harrison Wong of HARRISON WONG (menswear), Maria Mak of TwS (womenswear), Enoch Ho of Berayah (womenswear), Kenax Leung of kenaxleung (menswear, womenswear and accessories), Glori Tsui of METHODOLOGY (womenswear and accessories), Chan Po Fung of Playback Concept (accessories), Zoe Siu of ZO-EE (accessories), Felix Tai and Jeffrey Leung of POMCH (handbags and accessories) and Franco Yeung of VOLARE (leather goods and footwear), as well as popular brand 7crash from Taiwan, riding on her creative mind and “Work Hard and Play Hard” style to ignite a promising dynamism together in FFFest 2014!

In the festival, a diversity of events will be held at the creative landmark D2 Place which is revitalized from an old factory building. The second floor is to be decorated with different fashion art installations, while a superb collection of trendy wardrobes will transform the exhibition hall into Fashion Terminal for the departure to the “Hong Kong Fashion Week”.

About Fashion Forward Festival

Succeeding the applause-winning Fashion Forward Festival 2013 (FFFest), FFFest will be carried forward the good tradition in the forthcoming Fashion Forward Festival 2014. To enrich the month-long FFFest 2014 and display fashion innovation, advanced elements are introduced to the events originated from last year. FFFest 2014 serves as an interactive hub to gather all enthusiastic fashion lovers with cross-disciplinary engaging events namely catwalk shows, live music performances, fashion showcase, crafters workshops, etc.

About Fashion Farm Foundation

Fashion Farm Foundation (FFF) is a non-profit organization which has been established since 2012. It is founded by a group of enthusiastic fashion entrepreneurs and creative industry insiders in Hong Kong.

It is aiming to team up a group of Hong Kong based fashion designers, cultural practitioners, industry experts and retailers to promote Hong Kongs fashion design by encouraging and fostering collaborations between business, lifestyle, education and cultural sectors.

FFF also provides communication gateway between young designers and fashion expertise for sharing experience and idea through different interactive events such as catwalk shows, professional seminars, individual interviews, forum and group discussions.
